Sligo appoint Armagh All-Ireland winner as new manager

Sligo have announced the appointment of Armagh All-Ireland winner Tony McEntee as their new senior football manager.
The Crossmaglen Rangers clubman returns to the inter-county management scene after serving as a Mayo selector under Stephen Rochford for three seasons. He previously managed his native Cross' to back-to-back All-Ireland club SFC titles in 2011 and 2012, alongside Gareth O'Neill.
McEntee, who was heavily linked with replacing Malachy O'Rourke in the Monaghan job last year, has been handed a three-year term. He will be assisted by Crossmolina's Joe Keane with Sean Boyle continuing as strength and conditioning coach, while another selector is to be confirmed.
The Yeats County have been on the look-out for a new supremo since Paul Taylor stood down earlier this month following two years in the role. Meanwhile, it was also confirmed this evening that Dessie Sloyan would remain in charge of the Sligo U20 footballers.
