Sad to the see the passing of Harry, terrible loss to the family so soon after his brothe Lester died in a cycling accident during the summer just gone, a terrible year for the Ryan family, Clara & Kilkenny GAA...Harry was a nice forward back in the 1980's an the picture of him here on Hogan Stand shows of simpler times, no logos or crests on jersyeys etc..RIP.

RIP. He was a very tidy hurler in his day. Sad to see him pass.

I'm the same realdub. Harry Ryan was a smashing player. He was skilled, strong and as tough as nails. I used to love it when he was being marked by Sylvie Linnane. It was worth the money in to see the two of them take each other on. They were two terrific players and there was no stand back in either of them. It is very, very sad that both Harry Ryan and his brother Lester have passed away within six months of each other. May their families find comfort and may they both rest in peace.

he got the line for clashing with Liam Fennelly in a league match back in late 1980s...the club row was ongoing between the clubs in Kilkenny at the time..Fennelly was going through on goal, Harry made the run outside, Fennelly never passed, got bottled up and lost posession, Harry was livid and challenged Fennelly, gave him a dig, and referee sent Harry off..I remember it well, couldnt believe it...I think all was made good after that to be fair...a good hurler he was...hard to believe him and Lester passed this year...
