2020 just gets more strange by the hour. Seems a strange move but I wish him and Louth all the best. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 1076 - 23/11/2020 21:13:55 2314313 Link 1 |
A really exciting appointment. I suppose Louth isn't too far away, isn't an Ulster team, so unlikely to play Tyrone. Division 4 next year, so the only way is up! Any players opting off panels for the last few years, for whatever reasons, might be beating a track back! m_the_d (None) - Posts: 1096 - 23/11/2020 21:17:20 2314317 Link 2 |
Smart move from Mickey. There's no great pressure on him at Louth but he won't take the job for granted. He'll put everything into it.

Nothing to lose: a great appointment for MH and Louth. Are the Leinster counties bar Dublin reaching their potential!? The answer is probably no; one guarantee is Louth under Harte will reach the very height of their potential and will probably over achieve. What nobody knows including Louth GAA people is what their potential is with a professional outlook and someone as good as Harte. It'll be an exciting time for Louth to see where they can end up. Leinster isn't the strongest at the minute and Harte always takes the league very seriously; a few promotions and a few Leinster final appearances is probably not beyond them; maybe even an odd QF. I'm sure his remit is to transform Louth football; putting the foundations in place from underage up. Very forward thinking appointment and I'm sure this is part of a longer term plan. Someone like Harte will breath life and probably sponsorship into Louth football. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 707 - 23/11/2020 21:36:17 2314327 Link 1 |

Great appointment for Louth. Best of luck to Mickey. Wouldn't it be great to see him lead Louth to a Leinster title over the next few years....beating Meath in the final would be a bonus ;) yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 10339 - 23/11/2020 21:52:47 2314342 Link 3 |
A really exciting appointment for Louth. One would Def expect improvement. However Pete McGrath (2 time winning manager with Down) could nt get any success out of Louth. Still looking forward to the league now. Exciting stuff. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 630 - 23/11/2020 21:53:35 2314344 Link 1 |

You got to admire Mickey taking on this position. True love for the game and obviously not glory hunting at this stage of his life. Just wanting to do the best he can for Louth and no doubt he will improve them. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 979 - 23/11/2020 22:08:04 2314362 Link 3 |

Fair play to Louth and Peter Fitzpatrick, good appointment for Division 4. McGinley with Antrim, some Tyrone rivalry there. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2216 - 23/11/2020 22:11:48 2314365 Link 0 |

I honestly never thought I'd see him manage a county outside Tyrone.with any luck he might bring the footballers on and think they'll be well organized and will definitely become competitive..leinster needs something to happen and this just might be it..also a new stadium being built so there are big things happening in louth..
