I was thinking the same thing too. It's that sort of talk that got Lim in trouble last yr. If Hurling History teaches us anything, it's that Galway are the most dangerous team to meet in an AI Semi. Although that being said, we wish we were playing KK in the AI final too.

No bravado.. Just want to see Limerick in another all Ireland final.
No one would underestimate a Kilkenny side.

I disagree. Dublin's dominance won't last forever.

KK have won 18 finals since 1974. Defending there title 9 times. Only 2 times did they not defend it since 1974..

There is no doubt that the kilkenny team from 2000-2015 was an amazing team. However, after KK made the breakthrough in 2000 they were beaten by Tipp in 2001. Cork in 04/05 was the exception. Unfortunately, for them they came up against that amazing KK team thereafter. After failing for a few years that Cork team dwindled quickly.

Like Oldtourman, I'm no Tipp fan but I think the team of 2010 would have one a few more All Ireland's were it not for the same Kk outfit.

Limerick were hot favourites to beat Kk last year but the two in a row "nerves" got to them before they could settle. I'm guessing a major reason is that every one is out to dethrone the champions and the new champions don't have the experience to deal with it?

I'm hoping that the 2019 semi final along with the 11/11 games that Limerick won thus far in 2020 will stand for them and pull them through this semifinal.

I think Waterford will just about get over the line in the other Semi but then again the brilliant BC will have a plan for them too!

Either way great weekend in prospect!"
For the record, Galway beat Kilkenny in 2001, not Tipp. And then Tipp went on to beat Galway in the final.

I didn't say Tipp beat Kk in 2001. My point is that kk didn't defend the first title the win in a while. As you said Tipp went on to win that year but didn't get it back till 2010.

In fact I did say Cork did it in 04/05 but this was more or less the breakthrough team of 1999. So again an example of a breakthrough team not defending their title.

In fairness, you did say "However, after KK made the breakthrough in 2000 they were beaten by Tipp in 2001". That reads as Tipp beat them in 2001.
Tipp would certainly have won a few more All-Irelands after 2010, were it not for that great Kilkenny team.
So would Galway though. We were close enough in 2012 and 2015.

This is what you wrote in the post : " after KK made the breakthrough in 2000, they were beaten by Tipp in 2001"
Anyway you've clarified it now and said what you meant to say the first time so all is good.

This makes no sense. Didnt defend it in 2010, 2013 or 2016 and that's just the most recent decade.

I hope to God it does but there is absolutely no sign if it ending it any time soon. If anything, they seem to be getting stronger every year and their underage conveyor belt keeps producing new talent.

You are making no sense. They already defend the years before you stated. They won 08 defended in 09, they won 11 defended in 12, and won in 14 and defended in 15. Your logic is if you don't win forever you didn't defend your title.

They're not actually dominating at underage.

The last sentence was a joke. I actually think Waterford will have too much for KK this wknd.
