For along time Ulster football has been knocked continuously by certain sections of the media cuchulainn35 (Armagh) - Posts: 1589 - 23/11/2020 13:06:12 2313909 Link 1 |
It was a great Ulster Championship this year. Cavan were worthy winners in the end. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13145 - 23/11/2020 14:58:11 2314035 Link 1 |
Agree with this. The UC has generated some great games this year. The Tyrone Donegal battle was great and I really enjoyed yesterday's match. Tough hits, superb fitness levels, excellent fielding and some smashing points. End to end stuff. For too long endless hand passing was the corner stone of the game in Ulster IMO (Dubs doing it too much for my liking now TBH) but I think teams are mixing it up more now and putting balls into the inside forwards which is making for faster transitions and a better spectacle.

The much maligned inside mark has probably helped with the variation of play.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the mark but if something good has come of it then it's probably this tendency to play the ball inside but the resulting stoppage for the taking of the mark is then a problem.
