Congrats to Donegal, they wanted it more and some of their tactical switches worked a treat in the second half.

That said, the Mayo goalie was at fault for at least two of the goals today. But them's the breaks.

Congrats to all those teams for their contributions. A pity they are not given a better shop window to show what they do.

I assume that there's no relegation from the Nicky Rackard this year, but will the Meaghar champions be promoted?

With 2 teams now getting promoted to the Christy Ring, it really is time to merge the Lory Meaghar teams into the Nicky Rackard. 5 tiers was pushing it before, it really makes no sense now (the Lory Meaghar was only 3 teams this year). The Nicky Rackard tier is being whittled down, and its doing no favors to hurling development of the Meagher level teams to have them so silo'd.

Seen that what is going on? These games need more promotion the matches are very enjoyable and I think they should be on before the bigger intercounty games when crowds are allowed back. Would be great to have these finals on before the all ireland!

That was supposed to have been the case and was when they were first introduced, then that idea died a death.

I think the benefits of being curtain raisers is totally overblown. The idea that it'd somehow improve the profile of Meath or Carlow or whoever by having a few thousand Tipperary/Galway/Kilkenny fans happen to be in the stadium because they've shown up early for their team's game is ludicrous.

I would disagree, To be involved even as a curtain raiser would be massive, I would take anything that would boost the profile,

Hurling people love hurling and go to matches even if their own county is not involved. I think they should have these games instead of the minors before big games. I know myself and alot of other people will turn up earlier for these games, they are very entertaining and it adds to the atmosphere. I can only be good for hurling in these counties and gives them players a chance to play in front of a nice crowd!
