Replying To jimbodub:  "Yes

By pressing the self destruct button. Congratulations.

That was a great win for Tipp

But a bad one for Peter Keane"
I'm lost Jimbo. How would Tipperary winning be bad for Peter Keane?

It's even better to be a part of a successful county!

Replying To skirge7:  "Problem with this is the Leinster counties are screwed - stuck with Dublin. I think Dublin will be a force forever more. Maybe time to split them into 4 council areas. The have over 1.3million. 6 Leinster counties have less than 100k"
Dublin probably needs to be split but if it happens it can only ever be north and south split by the liffey. Splitting them in 4 is missing the point and wont help any of these other counties while totally wrecks Dublin. At least with a split in two there is a very natural south v north at play. how many other sports use the council areas as representative teams etc?

How many people can identify as fingal, dun laoghaire, south dublin co councils etc?

Replying To jimbodub:  "Massive congratulations to Tipp

It's not much of a shock really. .

Cork were distinctly average against Kerry

All credit to Tipp and an amazing story given the historical importance

Both Tipp and Dublin collecting silverware on the weekend that's in it"
Spot on Jimbo...

Only 1 shock in Munster this year alright.
Cork played in Division 3 all year and it showed, not matter how many times others try to dress it up.

Well done Tipp - and as you say Jimbo, fitting that both Tipp and Dublin won silverware on the weekend that was in it..
Congrats again Tipp - fair play to ye. 85years is some wait. Enjoy.

Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown will have 2 GAA clubs!!! You will have to better than this ridiculous suggestion.

Replying To yew_tree:  "What a win. Congratulations Tipperary and fitting they did it on the 100 +1 anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

Too much made of Corks late smash and grab win v a Kerry team that thought they were already in the All Ireland final.

Mayo will have it all to do. A 50/50 game."
Ya but deep down you're delighted and fully expect to beat them..

Replying To CiarraiMick:  "A super super day for Tipp football. Fully deserved for a team knocking on the door for so long. Some class footballers like Sweeney Wuinlivan Ó Riordan Ó Brien. A fab achievement for a county that specialise in hurling. Lack of funding and making big sacrifices. I don't think too many other teams could do a feat like that under the circumstances. Congrats again. Heroic."
Brilliant for them an i hope they enjoy it. That realistically is their all ireland today. Great to see.

Huge result for Tipp, well done to them. They will be no pushovers in the semi-final if recent encounters are anything to go by.

It will never happen for commercial reasons, but knockout football has been brilliant this year and should be retained.

It helped being in an uncompetitive province

In past times yes but this is different. Tipp will think they can win in Croke Park. Don't forget they are one of 5 teams to be in a second semi in the last 5 years, and they beat Dublin in a minor final 8 years ago.

Terrific win by Tipperary. Would love to see knockout championship retained next year.

Why? Players deserve lot more than straight knockout for what they put in especially when in some provinces there is sides winning very easily. straight knockout isnt the answer. it will just see more and more head off to the states every year and is that whats really best for the game?

Can I just say huge congrats to all involved from tipp..I think ye would probably say ye got out of jail against limerick..today however ye were outstanding..it's a pleasure to watch Sweeney and quinlan, two fabulous footballers..I would also say the backs were brill in not conceding storable frees to cork..ye should won easier as i think the disallowed goal was very harsh..go out now and give all ireland semi a good rattle ,ye have nothing at all to lose..best of luck for next day and I'm sure majority of neutrals will be hoping ye win..

We "should" beat them. But Sweeney, Quinilivan and O'Riordian would all walk into the Mayo team. Put it this way, the level of performance in which we fell over the line against Galway will not be enough to beat Tipp.
