Enjoyable game yesterday. Thought the ref did ok (despite not being from Leinster ahem Liam Sheedy). He played a great advantage for Harte's goal plus he changed his mind & threw in the ball after incorrectly blowing against 3 catches. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 3868 - 22/11/2020 21:44:27 2313500 Link 2 |
Yes maybe sheedy should have taken off Barrett after his yellow, but Barrett should also have had the sense not to get the second one,as I said in an earlier post, pure stupid..on the ref he is known as being very whistle happy and being a complete box ticket.ask anyone in limerick..a worry I'd have is if limerick don't make final,he will get it..people will have a pain in their head from the whistle.. The slap with the side of the hurl on them old cooper helmet hurt bad especially on the back and sides as they are thin with little padding. And from a county player I'm am sure it is much worse as the have stronger wrists. Them slaps look like the don't hurt but they do hurt especially on the head! Them players look like they are tipping the ball and it travels a fair distance they can generate a lot of power with a small swing.

Watched Sunday game again last night and definitely a question on first yellow for Barrett..I thought during match it was nothing however his second challange was pure stupidity..think sheedy will possibly be sorry he didn't take him off..I have to admit that if you ask anyone involved with clubs in limerick they fear getting that ref..he is what croke park want, everything completely by the book and all boxes ticked.. Checks all the boxes alright. Too have a great game of hurling a ref has to let the game flow. Can't pull up every tick of a hurl. I don't know the ref but the ground didn't help you could see the difference in Cork and in Croke Park. They have to be 2 of the best surfaces in all of Europe.

I agree in the small print of t&c's for all helmets it states they will not protect you from a direct blow.

I didnt get that impression at all. A lot of players got away with taking extra steps but he didnt blow up on that at all. Overall I thought he did a very good job. He was far less whistle happy than Fergal Horgan the previous week.
