Replying To gatha:  "Thought the ref was poor for both Galway and Tipp. Never let the game flow. Condition of the field didn't help. Hard earned win for Galway well deserved. They will have a tough go next week with 3 games in a row. They have the horses if they can get the energy level up for 70 minutes. Hats off to Waterford I thought they would have a good Championship under Cahill. He set the tone in January when he dropped Austin Gleeson. To Gleeson's credit he came back in shape and is contributing. Waterford will have a good shot next week, again 3 games in a row is not easy but they are in terrific shape. I have to give Brian Lohan credit he was short 2 of his best all year due to injuries and another left to travel I believe but he had a very good year. Shame Tony Kelley got injured don't know if even healthy he would have made the difference but that is sport. Next week will be very interesting can't wait. Great Championship so far hope it continues"
I think they're probably missing 4 of their top 5 or 6 in Duggan, Conlon, Podge and Galvin. No team could expect anymore missing those caliber of players

Well done Waterford, better team won. They were a better coached team, the quality of balls there forwards got was a million times better than ours got. They were well trained on how to work it through the lines, Clare were more hit and hope. It's easier to collect a ball from 40 yards than it is from 80 yards. Even with a fit Tony Kelly, they would of still been the better team.

Conlon is 32 and coming back from serious injury , Podge hasn't played well in years, Galvin with a decent midfield partner could be very effective. Duggan is a massive loss. Duggan can't be replaced, he's an unbelievable talent and I was gutted when I heard he was gone.

Agreed. Congrats to Waterford on a deserved victory. Simply put, played much the better hurling. No excuses. Best of luck in the Semi, no offence KK but will always cheer on the underdog.
I truly thought Lim/Gal would be the final. Although Galways victory wasnt always pretty, a game like yesterday was all about winning.
Both will be playing for the third wk in a row but I don't think it matters really. I'd say you'd rather be playing than not.

Duggan is one of the most impressive talents in the country, its a huge shame he was gone off this year. I think this is the one thing that separates the top teams from the pack. You don't ever see any of Kilkennys top players taking a year off to go travelling. They get one opportunity to play from Mr Cody , there's no second chances. One chance take it or leave.
