Some great fixtures there. We will definitely fancy our chances against Waterford but I suppose so would they. We showed great fight, heart and will to win last Saturday. This had been lacking against Limerick and to a lesser extent against Laois. We do need others to step forward in attack in a big way. If we do then i reckon we can drive on. The Gaelic Grounds in Limerick will host Galway v Tipperary at 1.15pm, live on RTÉ2. Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork for Waterford v Clare at 3.45pm. That match will be on Sky Sports Mix. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 1115 - 16/11/2020 13:02:00 2310013 Link 1 |
If the 2 games are anything like the Munster and Leinster finals then we are in for another treat. Galway were caught by those quick fire goals from Kilkenny and they had enough time to get in front and win but faltered in that they did not fully drive on. Perhaps they needed to score a goal themselves to prosper at the finish... Clare with Tony Kelly have played well but other players need to help out the immacilate Kelly. Waterford certainly have a fire in their bellies again and are a competent unit and have the players in defence to keep a score down but again up front have they the players to score goals and win games... Tipp are a battle hardened group and have the power and pace to trouble every defence and get goals. Their defence is not bad either and after beating an improved Cork certainly are going into next weekend a rejuvenated outfit. Tipp and Galway is the pick of the matches but as a neutral i am really looking forward to watching how Clare perform and whether Waterford are able to drive on to a semi. Galway have the raw material but must be disappointed with not shutting out Kilkenny. To me the question remains whether Galway have the fight in them to get over the Leinster final and rally again to put in a sustained big enough effort to gain a win. All questions will be well answered by this day next week ! carlowman (Carlow) - Posts: 1521 - 16/11/2020 13:12:15 2310023 Link 2 |

Galway v Tipperary will be epic, I am happy it's in the Gaelic ground a repeat of the 2017 league final would be beyond my wildest dreams. If Galway are to win this years All Ireland it will be Tip then Limerick and then the final, bring it on we might have a hill to climb but we are well able to climb it. Against KK we fumbled a lot of the times , I dont think the mansions can be happy with their performances against KK, Connor Cooney is not playing well for Galway despite being one of the best club hurlers. Dathie Burke was not great when Hogan came on. Obviously the Goalie was not great under pressure and must learn from it. Flynn had a one of his best days in 2017 league final back in the Gaelic ground might revitalise him but I am beginning to lose faith in him. I think we can win . heartbroken (Galway) - Posts: 356 - 16/11/2020 15:05:29 2310137 Link 1 |
May the best team win on the day. More than half the Waterford team are from the west and will relish a jog across the Youghal bridge. Hopefully everyone will continue to make us underdogs as it suits us.

Absolutely. If it doesnt go our way I'll be cheering you on against KK. I think you've got yourselves a great manager there in Cahill. He seems to have yee going again .I liked that Cahill hooked off Austin Gleeson as he wasn't contributing at all in open play as much as he should be. Not every manager would do it. I know he scored 3points but he seemed to dissapear after each score for what seemed like ages. You put it up to Limerick in a big way and I'd argue the water breaks both came at times when Limerick were looking troubled. Your free taker is quality and will punish us anywhere from 80yds. So all in all we're under no illusions that it will be tough. It's quite an even match up. Looking forward to it .

My heart wants Galway and Clare to advance but in reality I think Galway by one and Waterford by a few. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 1082 - 16/11/2020 20:23:42 2310354 Link 0 |
Agree about the water breaks. I think they destroy a teams momentum. I understand these are different times but, if things get back to normal I hope they are the 1st thing removed from the games.

Whoever wins the quarter finals will be playing their third match in succession (Clare fourth match). Limerick and Kilkenny will have the advantage of two weeks break for the semi final clash which could proof crucial. Jack L (None) - Posts: 2810 - 16/11/2020 20:44:30 2310382 Link 0 |
Spot on. The game is going more like American football. There will be advert breaks during them next.........

And they will. They are needed with the current way world is right now and only because of that. They can help a team restart their own game as well. KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 1636 - 16/11/2020 21:02:05 2310396 Link 0 |
Yeah the 2 provincial winners will have the advantage in the semis. Proper order.

Clare v Waterford- Waterford put so much into yesterday both mentality and physically while it will be Clare's 3rd game in 14 days, i think those factors cancel each other out and i think Waterford have shown more overall than clare in the championship to win by 3 or 4 points wexico15 (Wexford) - Posts: 2602 - 16/11/2020 21:36:52 2310419 Link 2 |
Waterford seem to have the bit between their teeth,Clare are too reliant on Tony Kelly, will Cahill have a plan for him?Waterford to win. ONdeDITCH (Limerick) - Posts: 428 - 16/11/2020 22:09:28 2310431 Link 1 |
Have to agree with you about the Galway keeper and hate to be dumping on the guy but he cost them the game. He will hopefully turn out to be a great one. Galway would probably have won with Callinan but it was Kilkenny and they have pulled that rabbit out of the hat so often. Most times they don't need that hat because they are the best team and other times it is shear dogged determination that is hard to match.

You can guarantee Cahill will have a plan for him. He won't do that against Waterford. You could easily be talking about Tipp with full back and goalkeeper. It can't happen but tipp need Ronan Maher in the half back line. He's our most important player for last two seasons. I think Galway will be warm favourites. I think I'd like to play most teams apart from Galway in Croke park so I think Gaelic grounds may suit us. However on form it's impossible to see anything but a Galway win especially with David Burke to come back into starting team. Seamus Kennedy is a big loss for Tipp. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 2911 - 17/11/2020 03:20:22 2310475 Link 1 |
I hope they keep the 4 quarters. It give teams a chance to readjust and makes each quarter relevant. I see some commentators are saying hurling should go to 80mins and have 4 20minute quarters. It makes sense really. I think the breaks do halt momentum but its up to the teams to adjust. Really good not to see people running on with water bottles aswell.
