If a few more of the kilcoo boys committed and a few others down would be as good as any team in the land

Down have physically and mentally collapsed.

Haven't seen such an embarrassing collapse since Percival surrendered 60,000 British troops to the Japanese at Singapore.

Proud of our lads today.
We showed serious heart and determination to claw our way back into the game, and we held our nerve to win it.

It's a strange thing from a Cavan supporter's perspective. We have suffered back to back league relegations, and we've reached back to back Ulster finals.
Our biggest probelm is that we are notoriously inconsistent. We only play for 35 minutes in games and that has been the case in all 3 USFC games so far. But it has got us to another final.

If Mickey Graham can get them to perform for a full 70 minutes, there is another gear in our lads.

Will we beat Donegal? I doubt it.

Will we give them a contest? We should do.

Well done mystic meg lol

Fair play to Cavan. They took some great scores in the second half and deserved to win in the end. Down have real potential to come back and go further next year but they need to learn fast about staying focused and fighting for 70 plus minutes. Some of the uncontested ball in that second half is criminal at this level. It was the difference in the end.

What are you on about ? Cavan won today unless you live in a parallel universe like Cavan.

My apologies. I picked that up wrong. I read your first sentence and assumed you'd only watched the first half. No need for the attempted insult at the end of your last comment though. Pathetic really.

That is 2 games cavan have dug deep for a win. Monaghan and down. Think donegal will win the final but team spirit and skill is not lacking in this cavan team. Well done . Come on Donegal.

Cavan supporters must be very proud of their team. That was an amazing comeback, 10 points down at one stage. I dont remember such a great comeback in recent years. The players are giving everything for their jersey and team of the championship so far. If they weren't playing Donegal next week I would be cheering them on.

Down were flying in the first half, Jerome Johstone was running riot and Caolan Mooney excellent. They just fell apart in the second half, hard to explain. They will be gutted but think they will learn a lot from this and have the makings of a good side. Hopefully this doesn't set them back.

Although Conor Madden got man of the match I thought Padraig Faulkner was the outstanding player on the pitch. He kept Cavan in the game in the first half and the block on Johnstone's goal bound effort was a huge turning point. They will need a better first half next week as I cant see Donegal letting a big lead slip.

Shocking from Down, losing a ten point lead in Football is unforgiveable

Congrats to Cavan on doing another Lazarus. The introduction of Madden and the likes of McKiernan and Galligan really stepping up stemmed the tide. However this was more about Down's capitulation and botching at least 2 handy goals. I would be sick tonight if a Down supporter.

Could someone explain why the umpire didn't signal for a goal seconds before Cavan got the penalty. Down player clearly had ball over his own goal line with umpire 2 feet away looking at him. Baffling at times or what's going through their heads.

He was pushed over the line. And had picked the ball off the ground before that.

Umpire saw exactly what happened and, crucially, the ref consulted with him.

Ref had a poor game (that's 3 in a row for us!) but he did get that call 100% right.
