Hammered his team too.

Great second half. In hindsight while I was very disillusioned with our performance the wind might have played a significant part.
I suppose Meath these days with every attack look for goals. But they will meet better defense than that today. Hard luck to Kildare, at half time I really thought our goose was cooked and you had every match up right keeping Morris and O'Sullivan and walsh quite , I'd say Andy had a few choice words at the break. We came out like a team possessed. Still though there is a certain other team that would have buried us and not let us back in. We have to stop these slow starts. This Meath team can't decide they like the ones of the 80s with comebacks, they are not.

I think some Meath supporters need to maybe take a step back. If anyone said we would score 12 goals in two Leinster games including one against Kildare before this we would have sent the men in white coats. We won by 9, and still have plenty of room for improvement, I don't know who said that winning while playing bad is better than loosing playing well. Whoever he was he was right. We have a lot to work on. But by jasus we are getting there.

12 goals in 2 matches! If we get to the final we'll need 15 Cluxtons by the look of things :D

Was just about to post that ! Dublin on a bad day would hammer either of these teams, we'll get the usual Meath aren't afraid of Dublin nonsense from certain posters on here!

A lot of banter with Meath posters but when any team scores 5 goals against an O'Connor coached team in a Leinster semi final it has to be acknowledged. What the whole country would love to now see for the benefit of Leinster football is Meath genuinely competing against Dublin. I fear Meath whilst improving are a long way from the top 4 or 5 which will be brutually shown against Dublin. However lets hope they show that's not the case and the Leinster final is at least genuinelybcompetitive. Well done on today's win though.

To concede 5 goals v Meath really is an embarrassment. That is a lot worse than the 7-16 v Kerry. Atleast we had to deal with Gooch, osullivan and Walshe that day. Not the mediocrity that Kildare made look like the Dubs.

Oconnor has recognized that Kildare have problems in defence so replaced it with junior B standard players. He also has the vision to see that Flynn, Cribben and Conway are not automatic starters.

In the 2018 u20 All ireland semi final all Jack had to do was put 2 markers on Jimmy Hyland. He left the same man on him for an hour and Hyland destroyed them. Today the same naivety was on show. Oconnor is ok once there is a golden generation of players at his disposal and the year is 2006 but there is no point in having him take on a job in a weaker county like Kildare.

I think I'll make myself feel better by looking back at the best of the Jason Ryan years.

Lovely direct goals in 2nd half

Finished with skill and confidence

Congrats to Meath on a great offensive showing in the 2nd half

Kildare will be gutted with the manner in which they lost

12 goals in two games.. flipping fell, that's very unusual

If Dublin did similar in Leinster the moaning from the same posters now rejoicing would be very evident

And what relevance has that to today's game? He left Kildare 7 years ago.

He has hardly brought Armagh to the promised land now, has he?

So Dublin are much better than Kildare or Meath. Massive statement. I hope everyone is now aware of this fact. Thanks for the briefing.

Well done to Meath. Best team in the 2nd half. We were the architect of our own downfall for some of the second half goals.
Best wishes to Meath, royaldune and all Meath posters next week.

Thanks lillywhite. I thought you had the measure of us at halftime. As I said every match up was perfect.
Maybe it was just me but Kildare seemed to tire in second half, not the same intensity as I have came use to from Kildare. Was Flynn injured ?? I think you would have been further ahead at ht if he started.
