An obsession with shortpassing doesn't help. Playing a sweeper against Cork was madness.

Exactly. We lost some very good Hurlers during the GC era.

As another poster commented, the short passing did not help our cause last night. Lots of turnovers and it was too late in the game when things changed. The switches came too late also.

But the Cork defence had their tactics spot on.
Credit to them.
