Replying To munsterchamps:  "over the last six or 7 years no they're not better but read my post again i said "right now" they are the 2 form hurlers at the moment."
If by right now, you mean yesterday evening, I'd agree.
If we're talking now as in games played this year, TJ is still there. Likewise, Conor Whelan.

Replying To skillet:  "Come off of it. Not going to work.
Anyone who knows anything about hurling recognises Waterford are a different side under Cahill.
You yourself said ye didn't have the scoring power to beat Cork."
Seriously though skillet I still have concerns about forwards scoring. Callum Lyons back scored 1-2, Kevin Moran scored, Shane Mc scored and Jamie Barron from midfield. I said we do not have the scoring forwards to win an All-Ireland but would put it up to Cork.

I always have liked Limerick, I am of the age where I remember as a child, the team loosing to Limerick in 1983 (replay I think)...always liked them..I was glad they won yesterday, if they hadnt, they would have had to major referee gripes, the first was the LImerick attacker was fouled, and I dont know how the referee didnt see he was hauled down. but gave a free the other way, Tipp, got a further free from that free, got a point from that, and I think the Limerick keeper/ and or defender messed up the resulting puck out and Jake Morris got his goal from this too.

The ball was picked off ground for second goal, we can argue it was in a semi bounce but it was nearer to a pick off the ground than not, and Tipp got a second goal. All very well saying Limerick won anyway, yes they did, but if they didnt, they could have collapsed as happened Limerick teams in the past, they would have been rightly agreived...Eddie Brennan took Seamus Hickey out of it in the first minutes of the 2007 All Ireland, and the year Hickey was having, I still maintain the start unsettle Limerick, after the Kilkenny blitz afte Hickey was upended, Limerick settled and actuall outscored Kilkenny comfortably for the rest of the game, if Kilkenny had 14 men, like as happened in recent years when they transgressed, they got the line and Kilkenny were not as scucessful.. might not be popular for bringing this up but all things add up...

Not that I think it would have changed the result but Eddie got off light because he pulled up with a hamstring or something then took Hickey out so the ref was nice knowing Eddie was about to get subbed anyway. The semi before against Waterford is still one of my favourite days supporting Limerick

You are getting your Hickey incidents mixed up there I think

You are stating a fact. I too remember the incident with Eddie Brennan and Seamus Hickey. Kilkenny won that game by a good magin in the end. Back to the present, Limerick looked good in their two games to date, their second half penalty was a decisive score. They look like AI favourites, but there is a lot of hurling to be done yet.

Your right I am. It was your Hickey took someone out going through on goal as he was about to be subbed and I thought he should have gotten a red. The match itself is a bit hazy now and it's more the day out I remember. I don't think anything would have changed the result anyway just the margin

Yeah, that's it, Hickey flaked across a Limerick forward's thighs as he pulled up with a hamstring and was very lucky not to get a red. The match is hazy for me now too, but I remember thinking the targeting of Hickey thing was a bit overplayed afterwards. However Eddie Brennan was very fortunate to not get the line too for splitting (Lucey?) by flicking the hurl back as they ran out for a ball. Anyway, it's history now

I could never take to Eddie Brennan after those incidents (I didnt mention them all)..I like him as Laois manager, although alot of lads not available this year, they seem to have dropped back alot from their intensity last year...some are saying the results would not have changed? we cannot say that, Richie Hogan walked last year early enough in the game from what i remember and Kilkenny didnt take too well being down a man..they were getting away with it for years, our own man reffing games was as bad as any for letting them off with "borderline" tackles..I hope Limerick, Waterford, or Wexford or someone in that bracket win it, Kilkenny sneaked over Dublin on Saturday after, and you always fear at the end of a championship when we look back and say "jaysus Dublin could have beaten them day one"...I know there is a second chance etc...Corofin won the 3 in arow last year, their county final last year was played in a heavy fog, which must have blocked the ref from seeing his watch, as around 7 minutes of injury time was played in the drawn Connaught final while Corofin were a point down, the moment the go an equalized the whistle went, Corofin won the replay and the All Ireland...what ifs are very important sometimes....

A lot of talk after that KK v Waterford was the final that should have been but jeysus did ye put that one to bed 12 months later. Was some fine teams back then that would have won all Irelands any other era but came up against one of the greatest Cork teams and best ever KK team

Thanks HDOT. Very fair comment, but all water under the bridge now anyway.
