Yes yes, I'm only thinking what it would be like in a full 30,000 stadium given what's on the line, Healy Park and Balbofey are much smaller venues

We've been waiting a long time now for a big championship do or die game, I think this could end up being a tough battle in atrocious conditions with lots of frees, who takes their frees well and copes best with the stormy conditions will shade it, don't think it will one for the purists anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrone won it - but I'm not expecting Tyrone to win it. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 796 - 30/10/2020 19:00:11 2303157 Link 0 |
Flip of a coin you'd think at this stage, think it will definitely be close, can't see more than a few points in it either way, think I'll throw 20 quid on the draw. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 1076 - 30/10/2020 20:51:14 2303181 Link 0 |
Donegal have the danger man in Murphy but Mc Hugh always gets scores at vital stages of games. Looking forward to match and hope Tyrone comes out on the right side of a cracker. Saynothing (Tyrone) - Posts: 276 - 30/10/2020 22:46:21 2303213 Link 0 |
We've been a safety-first team for years now. That kind of careful, take no chances, type of game obviously is very sensible 90% of the time and will always see you past lesser teams, but you also need the ability to cut loose and take the other team on and commit to going for half chances when the game is in the balance and is there to be won. We don't do that any more; but you need that in your armoury - against a top team, you don't get many clear-cut chances; chances of a score are never more than half chances and you rarely have the luxury of waiting for the perfect opportunity; you're invariably operating under pressure and at top speed, and you have to have a management culture that allows you to go for those half chances (without it being pointed out to you afterwards as a "rash decision") and the collective game intelligence to know when to go toe to toe and when to be more measured. My view is that, while you need to be measured a fair bit of the time, it's no good if you're that way most or all of the time. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 796 - 31/10/2020 09:22:49 2303243 Link 0 |
Looking forward to a feast of football. Can see Donegal prevailing but not by much. And wouldn't be overly surprised if it went to extra time. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 31/10/2020 09:51:03 2303248 Link 0 |
Good luck today lads. Can see a few changes to both teams before throw in. Weather dismal but it's on the day. Strange feeling for championship Sunday ,in other years ballybofey would be heaving from early morning. rorysboys (Donegal) - Posts: 850 - 01/11/2020 11:24:37 2303748 Link 1 |
Best of luck to both teams today, really looking forward to this. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 3671 - 01/11/2020 11:54:29 2303759 Link 1 |
Conditions are brutal, will this game stay the course? Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9294 - 01/11/2020 13:34:10 2303789 Link 0 |
Shocking weather but my god the production values of RTE leave a lot to be desired. Surely they could have picked somewhere better to set up the camera so it doesn't look like we're watching the game through a rain soaked window! Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8583 - 01/11/2020 13:44:20 2303791 Link 5 |
Niall Morgan hit a short kick out there which produced a bit of panic in the Tyrone ranks. All you could hear was a big gulder from the Tyrone sideline "Whit the **** are ye doin". LOL. Some of the stuff you hear without the crowds is hilarious. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9294 - 01/11/2020 14:03:31 2303798 Link 1 |
It's the BBC feed as far as I know, but yeah it's dreadful. Donegal coming on after a slow start. Decent game considering the awful conditions. GeniusGerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1957 - 01/11/2020 14:05:38 2303800 Link 4 |

Tyrone p**s about with the ball too much. Backwards, sideways, backwards, sideways repeat repeat repeat. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9294 - 01/11/2020 14:11:20 2303803 Link 0 |
Ha well Bermuda is a bit far but maybe under the stand would do.

Think this is a BBC production, both games live on BBC. Wouldn't surprise me if Marty Morrissy wasn't there at all Penalties?? mhunicean_abu (Monaghan) - Posts: 803 - 01/11/2020 14:48:16 2303819 Link 0 |
