Ridicously underrated, even by our own. Massive personal achievement to go with outstanding team achievements, more so when you consider he's done it in 7 seasons, didn't get a sniff before 13. Felt the low of being dropped from extended panels before Jim came in and fought through that adversity to become one of Dublin's greatest. He became an all time Dublin great for me in the first game of the 19 finals when we looked on the ropes, he led from the front and showed massive courage and leadership, dragged Dublin back into the game when the rest of the forward line forgot their scoring boots, he led the team from the front, set the standard and refused to wilt. If I was pushed i would say that was the greatest and most influential performance by a Dublin player over the whole era. The Rock Dublin are built on. Deano (17-450 in 95 games) is now ahead of Jimmy Keaveney (30-402 in 104 games). Meanwhile, Stephen Cluxton became Dublin's longest-serving player. Congrats to Dean Rock. Have to admit when he came on the scene first I thought he was average but did nt he prove me wrong. Great achievement and has a few more years in him yet. As Micheal ó Hehir said about his Dad Barney "And that's the Rock that many a county has perished on" As for Cuxton. He s some man. Wow, would have lost money of that. Dublin have some lineage when it comes to goalkeepers. Its quite unique. Wow that's some total, and he is relatively young and injury free, I didn't realize he was closing in on the record, I recall Cillian O'Connor from Mayo becoming the all time top scorer against Kerry in the super eight game last year Dean far off that bar? In this years first league game DC had an injury time free to level for Kerry, when he black spotted it and drew the game level Dean Rock was the forts over time shake his hand.. mutual respect by two free takers.. he comes across very level headed and modest.
