Dublin's top scorer of all time after his hefty tally tonight

An incredible record held by the great Jimmy Keaveney for so long.

It goes to a very worthy player

Fair play to him. A good clean footballer who seems to have worked incredibly hard on his game to become the player he is today.

I'll resist making a dig about him actually being from Meath on this occasion :)

Yep, super achievement by Deano.
Delighted and thrilled for him and the club.

And what about Clucko starting his 20th season with that game tonight.
Unbelievable achievement also..!

Love Deano. Ridicously underrated, even by our own.

Massive personal achievement to go with outstanding team achievements, more so when you consider he's done it in 7 seasons, didn't get a sniff before 13. Felt the low of being dropped from extended panels before Jim came in and fought through that adversity to become one of Dublin's greatest.

He became an all time Dublin great for me in the first game of the 19 finals when we looked on the ropes, he led from the front and showed massive courage and leadership, dragged Dublin back into the game when the rest of the forward line forgot their scoring boots, he led the team from the front, set the standard and refused to wilt. If I was pushed i would say that was the greatest and most influential performance by a Dublin player over the whole era.

The Rock Dublin are built on.

Good man Deano. They'll be happy out in Ballymadun tonight.

A fantastic achievement considering that he's only been a starter for maybe 6 seasons.

Two significant milestones were broken by Dublin players:-

Dean Rock overtook Jimmy Keaveney as the Dubs top scorer in league and championship.
Deano (17-450 in 95 games) is now ahead of Jimmy Keaveney (30-402 in 104 games).

Meanwhile, Stephen Cluxton became Dublin's longest-serving player.

Did he, who did he beat John O Leary or Paddy Cullen I presume?

I was looking at him tonight, he looks younger, I need to be doing what he's doing, especially if Santa is brining the new keeper jersey (class). Two class saves to keep us in it tonight. Never change St. Stephen.

On Deano:

95 games
17 goals
450 points.
502 points total

So far...........

I have utmost respect for top free takers and penalty takers. An awful job. They cope with moments of pressure that most players never have to deal with. Rock is a modest lad, but there's real mental strength there.

Congrats to Dean Rock. Have to admit when he came on the scene first I thought he was average but did nt he prove me wrong. Great achievement and has a few more years in him yet. As Micheal ó Hehir said about his Dad Barney "And that's the Rock that many a county has perished on" As for Cuxton. He s some man.

Agree totally, a fine kicker and footballer, very focussed. Also a lovely guy, with a wonderful calm personality. He is maturing into a fantadtic player.

Didn't realise he was closing in on this record but hardly a surprise given how prolific he had been. Well done to him, and he is nowhere near finished!!

Some achievement. Clinically deadly from placed balls.

Fantastic achievement for Dean Rock. He truly is a brilliant score taker. I'm guessing he is close to Cillian O'Connors all time national scoring record too. Anyone know how far he is away from that?

It was the Dubs first Allianz League game in the Neller in a decade,

Clucko created history by becoming the county's most capped player, eclipsing the record set by another goalkeeper Johnny McDonnell, who played against Tipperary on Bloody Sunday 100 years ago this month.

Great achievement and nice guy by all accounts, but did not know there was such farmers as 'Rock farmers'-rock farming would come close to mining!!!

Wow, would have lost money of that.

Dublin have some lineage when it comes to goalkeepers. Its quite unique.

Comerford coming along looks to carry on the tradititon, while Josh O Neill looked very tidy yesterday for the U 20s.

Wow that's some total, and he is relatively young and injury free, I didn't realize he was closing in on the record, I recall Cillian O'Connor from Mayo becoming the all time top scorer against Kerry in the super eight game last year Dean far off that bar?

In this years first league game DC had an injury time free to level for Kerry, when he black spotted it and drew the game level Dean Rock was the forts over time shake his hand.. mutual respect by two free takers.. he comes across very level headed and modest.
