I see the GAA has said that only Approved Yellow sliotars can be used for matches in championships this year. Problem is there is no list of approved yellow sliotars. The Greenfields ball was to be the one that replaced all others in this regard(it has a digital chip inside it). This should have been used as an opportunity to standardise the sliotars used in champioship once and for all. The sole reason for a yellow sliotar is it disappears even on a 50" HD TV. Especially say a televised match in an empty Pairc Ui Chaomh with banks of light grey terracing ball may as well be hit into fog. Now I wouldnt expect players to love em, nor coaches etc. But for once maybe the GAA can do something without silly objections cluttering social media and embarresing the spirt. Yellow fluo is the best colour for visibility which is why most bike and safety kit is made with it

Meant to say a white one disappears, not a yellow one! But is it not a bit silly this moaning. As no one will be at games, which will be on TV, streamed on various devices. Some inter-county hurlers just love to whinge. Changing from white to yellow hardly makes much difference? I never said they didn't, I asked a question whether a ball in -5 in Boston is really a valid reference. And, instead of moaning about it, why didn't they ask if they have improved/changed/etc? And anyway - why do we need GAA players/managers/pundits opinion on everything? And talk about weight. When you hit the old, old balls you got a shower from the water coming out of it. Someone looking for as a head line with a big name assigned to it. Childish arguments about a simple change that will have no mention in a short time. Maybe now I understand better why Liam Cahill moved Noel on and as much as I admired Derek McGath how much testing and games played has he done with the new ball. There must be a better topic that this rubbish. By the way I recently changed the colour of my underwear but no one noticed so thinking of wearing them on the outside.

I don't agree with that. I think a yellow sliotar for winter could be a smart move. Hurling doesn't need any other changes, the game is perfect the way it is.

There's a difference between the two. I would be a hurling fan. However "Hurling people" are the type who refuse to listen to anything other than people who think hurling is the greatests game in the world with no issues at all.
