They don't attend NUIG if they're isolating now, do they? Did they attend NUIG when they had symptoms? Are some NUIG students now being named as contacts and isolating before COVID tests as a result of these two Connacht Rugby players attending NIUIG?

You are so right when you say, The virus doesn't care if you're pro or amateur, - the virus has its own trajectory known to it self alone how do you deal with that.? It would put shadow boxing in the Ha'penny place. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 2161 - 21/10/2020 11:11:02 2299851 Link 1 |

I would hope so. But as Colm ORourke said everyone mixes outside of class, what about the canteen etc?

Irish rugby player McFadden was among group of 12 Barbarians to breach coronavirus protocols. The players left the team hotel without permission or informing organisers of their whereabouts on Wednesday evening. No doubt RTE will be all over this. brisbane (Galway) - Posts: 486 - 23/10/2020 19:44:32 2300607 Link 3 |
They did cover it with the rather excellent headline on their website https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2020/1023/1173437-rfu-to-probe-barbarians-dinner-date/ KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 1636 - 24/10/2020 11:51:18 2300711 Link 0 |
I quite like that RTE have no pipped crowd noise on the Sunday Game today. Morty (Westmeath) - Posts: 171 - 25/10/2020 15:52:01 2301172 Link 0 |
Is RTE trying to viewers away? With that rubbish "comedy" sketch on Sunday Game. I know RTE can't do comedy and if anyone wants to know why have a look at that attempt today, dire. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4434 - 25/10/2020 17:58:20 2301259 Link 0 |
It needs something but the sky crowd noise is terrible in fairness, it's grand for soccer but hurling is too fast it can't keep up with it.

Delighted RTÉ havnt gone with that piped sound it just wouldn't be right at the Gaa games as everything happens to quick..as for the comedy sketch, please leave it away.. CTGAA10 (Limerick) - Posts: 1045 - 25/10/2020 23:02:27 2301427 Link 0 |
I agree with no "crowd noise" it doesn't work for the GAA in my opinion but to be fair to Sky their GAA coverage rarely gets anything wrong so I'll wait to after the Cavan - Monaghan game to pass my judgement. I know it's unique circumstances but I found the RTE coverage so bland yesterday; the highlights show was appropriate for late Sunday night television to help people nod off. It was clear each had their own script to communicate and that was it; nothing was challenged by the other panelist and no conversation was encouraged; strange format. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 707 - 26/10/2020 09:08:22 2301473 Link 1 |
It would be hard to co-ordinate crowd noise in our games and would probable sound a bit stupid at times. Let's face it, us GAA supporters are a different animal. You know the way the pressure builds up like a pressure cooker and then the noise followed by the calm again as the concentration goes back to the play again by 40,000 plus fans. Sky's coverage very slick and on a completly different level on what RTE currently produce. Great presenters, good conversation, tactical analysis, good camera angles and even the crowd noise is subtle but does add to the product. Very impressed with their coverage. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 707 - 31/10/2020 15:07:10 2303331 Link 0 |
In defense of RTE their camera work is first class, with that streaming is here to stay and GAAGO will be superior to any other at this, the whole landscape in that area is changing at speed.

The commentary on the cork/Waterford match was pathetic. Nicky English is painfull to listen to.
