Club championship action all going well will commence in Donegal this weekend. Thankfully, defending champions Naomh Chonaill have today reported that a suspected Covid case has returned a negative test result. So it should be all systems go, albeit minus the usual crowds attending.

How are things gearing up in other counties? Who will the likely victors be in your club championship?

In Donegal it's hard to look beyond the top 4 of Naomh Chonaill, Gaoth Dobhair, St Eunans & Kilcar. There are other teams like St Michaels and Glenswilly who on their day could down one of the big 4, but it would be hard to see them win it outright.

Wexford are running off the Hurling first and then Football. Last round this weekend and QFs then the following weekend. Hard to look past St Martins last years champions as the favorites to win at this point. The one thing that is standing out are the county men and their ability to influence games. They look far fitter and sharper than the rest which is one suspect down to the fact that they never stopped training even if by themselves.

We saw the difference in Intermediate and Senior club football today in Galway when the All Ireland Senior football champions Corofin beat Oughterard the All Ireland Intermediate club champions by 7-17 to 0-11. Corofin also started without 6 from the team that started against Kilkoo.

Yeah - good game. I thought Tullaroan were going to win then Shamrocks scored right at the death.

Had to feel sorry for Tulloroan though, it seemed such a soft goal too considering how well they had defended.

Some score from Shane orurke today. We can only imagine what his contribution to a Meath team would have been only for all those injuries.

sure he hasn't been injured in a while now. If he was that good, surely Meath management could have tailored his training and have him ready for game day instead of wearing him out training.

It looks like Corofin didn't get too soft after all the time off. Fair play to them for staying so sharp.

You probably would have won an All Ireland.

He kicked a great sideline, but I thought he was quiet apart from that. Sone of their other forwards kicked great scores. Skryne looked like a very young team. They were much smaller and were well beaten in the physical battles.

In fairness I think the form Corofin were in on Sunday
They could have beaten most good senior clubs in the country
Oughterard were met by a Corofin storm that has blown away many a decent team
Hopefully Oughterard can recover from this experience

Shanehas extreme problems with his hips. (Well documented even by his father) Shane could not commit to senior county football as it would in all likelihood put him in a wheelchair. And retired from ic a number of years ago

Indeed skryne are a small side. Sen , seem to have clicked at right time. I expect a few more to be called up. Many hadn't given them much hope this year. But they coming in nicely.

Ya, I'd say there'll be some fair slagging over that one alright.
