Does anyone wonder about the actual demand? StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 864 - 06/08/2020 18:55:57 2286662 Link 0 |
Normally I'd agree, if no one can go, what's the point? But after what we've all been through, I think most people will be delighted to just get a chance to watch games and for 70 mins forget what is going on. We're at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to jobs and the economy being decimated, if games behind closed doors or with tiny crowds can bring a bit of joy, a bit of a distraction, something else for us to focus on, then let's go for it. I think he's probably stayed on a bit too long at this stage personally, but credit to him if he enjoys it and wants to stay on. At this stage, I think he'll stay this year and next year because of the ongoing virus complications to sport and then he may or not want more year with full attendances and the return of the 2019 championship format in 2022 eoghan6688 (Galway) - Posts: 129 - 06/08/2020 20:59:29 2286670 Link 0 |
I don't mean to be funny but that article is a bit of a disgrace. What would he have us do, sit at home and starve while society collapses around us until we have completely eradicated the virus? It's not realistic. The inter county games will involve a small number of teams compared to clubs, less travel, less games etc. If they can be played they should be.

Hard to see how there won't be more localised restrictions isn't it. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 864 - 08/08/2020 16:30:09 2286883 Link 0 |
It's very difficult to know who it'll suit. Someone said it doesnt suit Cork but Ive also seen Cork run the legs off teams in certain league games. It's probably going to suit the fittest team - fitness it probably more important than normal. It may well suit Wexford given how they are running off their championship (then again it may not). tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 2911 - 10/08/2020 23:21:09 2287187 Link 0 |
