Yeah, I'll give you the names of those with more than one username so you can ask me to prove this. Wise up will you ?

Who are all those with more than one username. Ive used several but not more than one at a time"
For me, that puts any argument you may have had about improving the forum, null and void. Complete hypocrisy.

No, I can't say those sites are not straightforward to use, why would I? I don't use them, but I'm sure they're fine sites, and more power to anyone supporting independent communication platforms.
My post was just about my experience with this site, hence why I explicitly said "more straightforward user experience, for me at least. But to each their own, obviously." I wasn't saying that this site is more or less straightforward than any other site, just an independent impression of my experience here, all other things being equal.

I've also being using this site for 19 years (yikes), so I'm probably just very used to it. I get why users of other fora would be more used to features they've used there, I just don't have any requirements like that. For me, the only thing that can really aid discussions is how we post ourselves, what attitude we come to the discussion with. And having interesting topics to discuss. Right now, there's a drought, but that'll improve when we get back to the games.

Did you look at them or ever glanced at them. They are far more straightforward, encourage debate and discussion far more.
this is a very basic site and doesnt help discussion with how its set up. you should try some of these sites. you might enjoy them more than here

yes you open a new account and chose a very different username to the previous name you used. you could stop using an account and then use a similar name to the previous name

I don't get that. When I opened my account I had to provide an e-mail address. Surely that would show if I tried to open a second one. Or else I would need other e-mail addresses. The only complaint I have with the structure is the moderation. I have had posts not posted, edited, removed for no reason. I do not abuse anyone or get personal but welcome different opinions than mine in good debate. Quit posting for months when I referred to some facts about Trump and it was removed. Underneath mine was a post lambasting the Democrats. Incidentally I am not conservative or liberal, left or right. Do not believe in that ****.
I do have a complaint with posters abusing other posters to compensate for lack of facts or debating skill. Then calling us that don't like it snowflakes. If you called me a snowflake on a hurling field 40 years ago you would be crawling out of bed on hands and knees the next morning.
All in all there are many good posters but too many of the other type.

My complaints and suggestions for the forum are fair. Do you not see how poorly laid out and set up the forum is compared to most other forums. would you not rather use a better set up forum?

I regularly change my username. So what. Whats the issue with me.

I think the mods need to up their game.

-Too many different threads for the same topic. I've been guilty of this myself when I didn't realise a similar thread was open. But a mod should have combined the threads.

-Too many people going way off topic. Needs to be nipped in the bud.

-Too much attacking the poster rather than the post. Again needs to be nipped in the bud.

-Seems to be some censorship about certain topics. I made a few comments about the Galway scandal and they never made it to print. No names mentioned or any legal issue in what I said. Actually a very generic comment.

I know mods probably have to get a few quid but I presume the site is making money.

I honestly don't know but this is very, very strange. What happens if a poster on here using someone's e-mail address is involved or refers to something illegal and the authorities only way of following up is with the owner of the address ?
