Replying To KillingFields:  "You can still use something you feel needs change. The best way to effect change is from the inside.
Why would you not want a forum with better features? Why would you prefer something old and out of date instead of something modern with greater flexibility?

Why would you not want the features in place on other forums? Why cant you answer that?
What features would you want on an upgraded forum? What features would you not want?"
I'd like the red thumbs reinstated.

What that old saying killingfields that big bodies move slowly? I'd say we'll see changes on here eventually like the red and green thumbs coming and red thumbs going but it'll take years and like some have said it's probably a money issue, I wonder what this forum was like when it began maybe 1 of the more senior members can tell us, I wonder is it better now or worse.

Would it matter what features we have or is a forum only as good as its people that use it?

- - - - or up grading a lap top to a newer version may very well make no difference at all, as the old saying goes about computers, - - garbage in, garbage out. The one thing that hasn't changed as we all know is the forums anonymity, remove that, then no red thumbs, green thumbs or Boards restructuring matters.

Anonymity is better for all. And restructuring the format allows better discussion

are you 12? Why do you think the forum is one of the few if only irish forums that looks like this and doesnt have many of the features ive mentioned multiple times?

I'd like the red thumbs reinstated.

Why should it have to take years. If money really is an issue then do what other forums do and have better advertising revenue - pay per click, sell more ad space, affiliate marketing, sell sponsored posts where advertisers can buy threads/posts which automatically go to top of page and are advertising

I'm only going by the 10 years I've been on here killingfields, it hasn't changed much in that time bar posters coming and going and the green and red thumbs.

Your idea for hoganstand to gain some more income to make the changes and update the forum sounds good, would that depend on how many posters and readers that we have?

I'm not opposed to the forum changing I'd actually welcome it.

Yes. You can choose to get different notifications like if you are quoted, every single post that is posted.
An updated forum could have ignore option where you put on ignore posters you dislike, you have a report button to report posts to mods

I feel for us as a nation that someone is so twisted and bitter and has to post petty comments against me so often just to get likes.
Nothing strange about wanting a better forum thats used regularly.

You be saying that now Catch, without proof! If only every poster had to verify their ID for their but that's not a plan that everyone supports. Let's ignore the multiple usernames per person and have automated e-mail notification for posts like 'other forums'. Without checking feasibility. Sooner or later you have to get off the roundabout. I'm going off now to another forum. It looks mighty and I'll get e-mail notifications if I tick the box, but they know fk all about sports.
