There are counties in Ireland where you may get one or two scenic grounds but in my opinion NOWHERE on this island compares to the Glens of Antrim for so many GAA clubs surrounded by such stunning, natural beauty. As you say Cushendall, Cushendun and Glenariff are a few examples. I have travelled all over Ireland but in in my opinion The Glens and Antrim Coast Road are by a distance the most beautiful part of this island. Wicklow is superb as are parts of Kerry and Donegal but Antrim is way, way out on it's own.

Valleymount, Lacken, Ballyknockan, Blessington, the lakes I know it so well and agree that it's splendid. Wicklow is a very beautiful, scenic county. I've done the circumference of the lakes a few times, going through Lacken into Blessington and then coming back the other way through Valleymount.

Yes it's in cork near limerick border, often pass scartaglin whenever I drive to castleisland or tralee, very nice views around where there pitch is

A big Statement about Antrim which is indeed a pretty County but I doubt it would make the Top 10 if there was a list of Beautifull counties. It definitely wouldn't make the top 5. And of course all lists are subjective. One mans 'scenic' isn't another's. I know many like the desolate Burren or the windswept Glen's and mountains of Donegal and Antrim. Id prefer the pastoral beauty of woodlands and prime agricultural land mixed with the coast in West Cork. Theres no where in Ireland with the towns ,coast and land thats in west Cork.

Each to their own bloodyban is right - but regardless of what your preferences are the topic was about beautiful Grounds and as I said, we are lucky to have an abundance of ones in locations that are desolate (like Glenarms pitch), on the coast (like Cushendun or Glenariff) or in the windswept Glens like Glenravel.

Funny I had inlaws from Mayo staying the weekend after being in Derry during the week and after visiting the North Antrim Coast and Glens they commented that alongside Kerry there were no other Counties to touch the two in terms of beauty and dramatic landscapes. So yes, it is a big statement which I stand firmly by :-)

Absolutely. Clonbur is a lovely little village with great walking trails nestled in an unspoilt part of Co. Galway. Many gravitate to other parts of Connemara but this place is a gem.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they reckon. I love watching rough seas, safe and sound wrapped up or indoors watching the waves crashing the shore in Lahinch, Strandhill, Salthill, Enniscrone, Oldhead etc. Nature in it's wild and beautiful glory.

Aye its nice to look at from indoors but not so nice when you've got to work and live in it as I do greenandred, lovely in the summer at times it reminds me of an old Muiris Ó'Súileabháin story about the lobster pots.
