There's an ad on the TV for and it shows a quick glimpse of some very picturesque GAA grounds, not sure where they are though. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 979 - 21/07/2020 13:03:47 2284748 Link 0 |
There's one outside Cork City I don't know who's it is but the pitches are built in steps down a hill Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1106 - 21/07/2020 13:15:48 2284751 Link 0 |

Was actually on that pitch in Inistioge two summers back - not playing, was just down for a few days in the Kilkenny area and we stopped in Inistioge for an ice cream and a dander. I did wonder to myself how many balls end up in the river as there isn't much land between it and the sideline in one corner in particular. In my opinion, Kinnitty GAA grounds at the foothills of the Slieve Bloom mountains, is one the nicest grounds in Offaly. There is a nice view of the mountains, and with a forest walk bordering on one side, it's a lovely site. MicktheMiller (Offaly) - Posts: 112 - 22/07/2020 13:08:21 2284851 Link 0 |

Where was that ground in Tyrone where the pitch didn't quite fit into the available space because of a river, so they just drew a diagonal across the corner to create the first ever pentangular GAA pitch ? lionofludesch (Down) - Posts: 369 - 25/07/2020 14:15:26 2285257 Link 0 |

In Dublin it'd be Beann Éadair's grounds up in Howth or Stars of Erin in Glencullen. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13145 - 25/07/2020 19:06:02 2285285 Link 2 |

The Meelin pitch 'up at the Turret Cross'. A lovely hill top pitch, with a massive view.

Yous are indeed blessed! I've spent a few great weekends trampling round the Glens, and then rounding it off with a pint or two in Joe's in Cushendall. What a place! MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13145 - 26/07/2020 14:16:33 2285341 Link 1 |

Yes. On the border with Limerick. The Parish of Meelin/Rockchaple bounds Tournafulla, Killeedy and Broadford in County Limerick, Brosna in Kerry and Newmarket, Freemount and Tullylease in Co Cork.
