When Galway are bounced out of the Hurling I always pull hard for Clare. If they're not available I usually go for the underdog in any match. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 1082 - 19/07/2020 15:15:29 2284505 Link 0 |
I have zero interest to be honest, i actually switch off and dont watch the rest of the games, usually head out of the country and have a holiday or whatever. I might record the Sunday game and watch weeks after the final in there's nothing else on. But once the Dubs are gone, im not really bothered about what happens and its all about club. You're not odd at all. I'm the same way in Premier League. I watch Liverpool but find it hard to watch others.

Have to say I largely agree with what has already been said, I do tend to like the underdog winning as a general rule but dont specifically follow any other counties in football, although I like seeing some teams do well any given season, namely Monaghan, Roscommon, Tipperary, Clare, and inside Leinster; Offaly, Longford, and Louth. Now that you mention it my vision has been getting worse! Ha ha.

I would shout for Down and Galway, (Even when we still in it ) and they not playing us. and Louth. I've found myself cheering on mayo in all final but let's be honest that has come to nothing. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 19/07/2020 19:06:47 2284527 Link 1 |
That all been said. I will cheer for any team playing against Westmeath, Kildare , Offaly, and Tyrone. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 19/07/2020 19:08:09 2284530 Link 1 |
I always have a soft spot for Kildare. After that any of the Ulster counties especially Monaghan, Armagh and Down. Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 221 - 19/07/2020 21:14:31 2284546 Link 3 |

Football is anyone but Kerry, I live near the border and many of them decided to marry Cork people and live in the area, I wouldn't here the end of it when they win all Irelands :D DuhallowRed (Cork) - Posts: 140 - 20/07/2020 00:33:45 2284577 Link 1 |
I think this often can change, it's well known in hurling how Clare were the neutrals darlings in 95 and after some controversies and loose Loughnane comments were the other end of the spectrum by 98 wexico15 (Wexford) - Posts: 2602 - 20/07/2020 02:12:02 2284579 Link 1 |
Don't really have any second team, probably like most people depends on the day or the era etc. witnof (Dublin) - Posts: 1583 - 20/07/2020 09:57:58 2284589 Link 1 |

When Limerick are out I always cheer for our neighbours and rival Clare. Unlike Tipp and Cork, Clare are in the same boat as us, living off scraps and often the underdog, if we're out I'd always prefer to see them do well McFan88 (Limerick) - Posts: 421 - 20/07/2020 11:53:48 2284605 Link 1 |
Fair play to you but I just can't bring myself to do it when it comes to Clare. I have a lot of respect for Cork teams and fans but they have won plenty over the years so ide only shout for them over KK. I don't really have a second team its more about the narrative of each year. I was delighted for Galway in 17 but that was back before I met Katzer so never again Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1106 - 20/07/2020 12:56:18 2284618 Link 1 |
Galway in Hurling I think most Connaght people would be the same. sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 565 - 20/07/2020 13:27:09 2284623 Link 2 |
