Very positive update to the forum to remove the red thumbs in my opinion. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 3111 - 02/07/2020 05:42:50 2282632 Link 12 |

Exactly. It stops debate. If you have a problem with a post. Comment with your criticisms dont just hide behind red thumbs Green thumbs for appreciating good posts/posts you agree with are fine. KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 1636 - 02/07/2020 10:32:28 2282660 Link 0 |
I can't say they ever bothered me but if it means people have to engage more in conversation than its a good thing, I don't think the green thumbs add a whole lot either tbh.

The ones that irritated me were on the posts wishing everyone Happy Christmas or whatever. lionofludesch (Down) - Posts: 369 - 02/07/2020 11:58:10 2282685 Link 4 |
To be honest I find people putting an stupid smiley/winky face even worse than the red thumbs. Put a barb in your post and then stick one of those stupid signs after it to show that you're just having 'the craic' when you're probably thumping the keyboard in impotent fury. Adolescent behaviour. avonali (Dublin) - Posts: 1325 - 02/07/2020 12:48:39 2282695 Link 8 |
Seems a bit half-assed if you ask me, have both or none at all. Gleebo (Mayo) - Posts: 1803 - 02/07/2020 12:52:02 2282696 Link 4 |
Who cares, its a GAA forum, the amount of people who dont talk about GAA on here and are on personal rants is ridiculous and in all honesty you could feel nothing but compassion and concern for them, do we really need a thread and comments about imagery thumbs. I'm not a fan of either but I think the red thumbs were particularly bad and stifled debate.

Ahh Kingdomboy, you didn't have to wait for me to tell you the psychology behind it. I think you knew all that well enough yourself. Wink wink nudge nudge and all the rest of it.

Well said, red thumbs were particularly bad and stifled debate - the forum is about opinions and debate - it was simple to just down thumb besides actually contributing to the discussion in a constructively manner
