Replying To kiloughter:  "Me as well. Great to win after 29 years but when the team you beat also has a great need you do feel for them. Also Waterford have contributed handsomely to some great hurling games in the last 20 odd years so unlucky not to have pulled an all Ireland."
Some of my favorite hurlers ever played for Waterford. John Mullane, Big Dan Shannahan, Tony Browne, etc. The best of hurlers.

A bit of a sore point?

Probably. We obviously have a block in senior hurling finals when we meet the guys in the blood and bandaged jersies.

East Midhe in Both codes the poor lost souls have never recovered their sense of balance after our province being broken up By the Brits 500 years ago and their part being on the east coast away from Midhe and being part of the anglo ridden pale.We are fed up beating them in hurling and now are just as good in football with a third of the population.

Mayo in Football
Galway in hurling

One happens all the time the other is like summer with a single swallow.

If Tyrone were playing Mayo who would you rather see win? say in an All Ireland semi final?
much as we have a rivalry with Tyrone I'd support them all day long once we were out.

Football
1.Kerry, no one else comes close.
2. Mayo.
(Meath would be right up there with Kerry back in the day, but recent times they're simply not a threat)

Hurling
1. Kilkenny, granted we have only beaten them once in championship in my lifetime, but what a feeling it was to beat the very best hurling has to offer.
2. Wexford
(Laois would be right up there years ago as well. We had a huge rivalry with Laois before we moved up to the next level!! Now i know they beat us last year, but for the most part that rivalry has been dead for awhile)
