Replying To Cockney_Cat:  "That's fine as far as it goes. How many times have Galway and Dublin met in the Championship since 1934? Considering Galway have won 7 All-Irelands, and been runners-up 10 times since then."
7 times actually. 1942, 1958, 1976, and 2018 in addition to the ones mentioned above.

Would be Dublin (don't bother reply that it's unlikely to happen), then a win over one it the group of good teams behind Dublin (last time I can remember us beating a team we weren't suspossed to was Mayo in 2009), after that beating Kildare is always nice (live near the border so losing to them is a pain in the a*se).
Would love to play Westmeath again soon, we haven't got them since what happened in 2015.

Kilkenny in hurling and Kerry in football because you have to beat the best to be the best.

Dublin is a given but have always been a big fan of beating Laois

In other words what counties do you hate, how many times have we covered this, this place is sliding down the tubes big time, all the best, and most annoying posters have left, I blame the dubs dominance.
Please come back master moo moo etc

Replying To Young_gael:  "The Meath thing that a lot of Mayo people have boggles the mind really. I understand that Mayo could've and maybe should've won the 96 title, but isnt that the same of many other finals Mayo were involved in? Maybe its that Meath went on to win an All-Ireland in 99 after 96 and many Leinster titles also that meant the 96 thing was settled in the mind very quickly in Meath and now its barely an afterthought. Is that year seen as "the one that got away?""
I've lived in Meath, believe me, it is very far from a one way thing.

Enough to call Dublin a jinx then?

Wasn't the point I was making Young_gael and maybe it's a sign of your youth. The 1983 final finished with 26 players on the pitch and with other incidents not seen or punished fully it could have been closer to 20. It's regarded as the dirtiest final ever... way dirtier than the '96 final replay between our counties when most of the fizz happened in one crazy punch-up, but that incident still distinguishes the '96 game as one of the most infamous.... '83 though is still the yardstick for all the wrong reasons by some distance. Nothing at all to do with whether Mayo could have or should have....

How's that working out for you?

From a Donegal perspective Monaghan or Tyrone I suppose at the present time.

You're a little bit late with that one! Surprised that Mayo don't feature on your list given some of your previous comments.
