The 1992/93 Hurling League

(Oldest Posts First)

I remember the finals saga between Wexford and Cork at the end of this league, but didn't recall how brilliantly unpredictable the group stages were. I was looking back at the results a while ago. You had Down beating Kilkenny and Offaly, and Antrim doing the exact same. This was a Kilkenny side in the middle of back-to-back All-Irelands and Offaly who would win it in '94.
I know the league was very much 'eased into' at this time, but it still stands out in terms of results.
While we're in a much more competitive place in hurling in the last 3 years than the previous decade, are there any hopes of progression in Antrim in particular?

It's nice to see results like that once in a while but what have them counties done since then? It further highlights what I said in another thread about how useless the League is under the current way. Meaningless matches will have them kind of upsets due to the stronger team not taking it seriously or just blooding some new lads in.
