What New County/Declined/County Would You Like To See Win A Provincial Or All Ireland Football Soon?

(Oldest Posts First)

Havent been on here in yonks with the current situation, just thought of this last night watching the Sunday Game in its most unusual format, apart from your own, list say 3 counties, whom have never won a provincial or All Ireland or whom have but are not in the mix any more at provincial final day or All Ireland day, leave out our own counties for the purpose of interest:

Provincial my choices are: Kildare, Cavan,Derry, Down, Sligo, Clare
All Ireland: Meath, Cork, Galway, and Down and Derry

Football has to be Mayo.
Hurling, Wexford.

I'd be genuinely pleased to see Antrim or Fermanagh win an Ulster championship in football.

grand, nice choices, you can over lap provincial with All Ireland as I did in the original starting post by having Down and Derry listed for both provincial football and All Ireland...I suppose if we add in hurling we would have to wish Waterford an All Ireland..around really since 1998 after some atrocious years in the 1980's and are now a conistent force every year, but All Ireland is just eluding them..

Leitrim in the football.......so we do not have to hear every lazy pundit use them as an excuse for something.

Dublin in the hurling!

To see Mayo and Waterford end their famines would be fantastic, fermanagh to win an Ulster too, probably missed the boat but if tipp could win a Munster football would be great

I'd like anyone but Dublin to win Leinster and the All Ireland.

Both competitions need a new winner.

Anyone but Kerry is needed in Munster too.

Connacht and Ulster have seen a decent spread of winners.

Hurling it'd be good for Waterford or Wexford to win the All Ireland.

I'd like a Laois or Carlow to stay up in Leinster sometime too.

Football: Clare or Tipp win Munster. Cavan win Ulster. Kildare or Laois win Leinster. Leitrim Or Sligo win Connacht. Roscommon and/or Mayo winning the All Ireland.

Hurling: Offaly win Leinster. Kerry beating one of the BIG teams in Munster. Wexford winning the All Ireland.

Leinster: Louth, Longford...Carlow, Wicklow..take your pick

In Football:
Leinster/ Anyone but Dublin at this point. Personally I'd like to see Louth win a Leinster, so long as they don't have to beat Meath when they do it.
Ulster: Monaghan/Cavan/Down/Derry
Munster: Tipperary/Clare. Anyone but Kerry at this point.
Connacht: Sligo/Leitrim

All-Ireland: Would love to see Monaghan win an All-Ireland above any other county, besides Meath ;)

Would love to see Wicklow and Fermanagh win Provinicial titles. Also would like to see Leitrim win a Connacht title again and wouldn't begrudge Sligo one either. On the morning after Leitrim last won their Connacht title in Roscommon town in 94 I was up early and travelled into town to work..two Leitrim bucks stretched out fast asleep outside the Hyde..scenes.

Kerry have been punching at a level above Offaly I would say in recent times in hurling..ye have beaten us in recent times...ye have an outstanding forward who would make any county team in Shane Conway...Offaly have good forwards on paper but dont seem to translate onto the score board on match days....Kerry always had one or two very good forwards going back over the years..werent the Bricks great hurlers and to hand one or two more names escape me now...

Hurling: Dublin, Antrim. Kerry too, and I think they should just join Leinster instead of being put though a playoff against the bottom team in Munster.

Football: Mayo of course, and also Fermanagh and Wicklow to make the breakthrough in their provinces.

(What's "declined"?)

Three counties - Donegal, Monaghan and Tyrone have won all the Ulster Championships over the last 10 years. Hardly a decent spread of winners from nine counties.

In fact, only four counties have won it over the last 20 years (add Armagh to the three above).
