Maybe so but it's extremely hard to do. I mean there's a reason why it doesn't happen often. Offaly in the 80s looked close to doing it. I suppose Galway, Cork, Dublin, Clare, Offaly, Antrim, Wexford, Limerick, etc would be the logical candidates probably in that order. I might have some counties out. In either code Galway are NOT the favorites to win. I'd say Limerick in the Hurling and still Dublin in the Football would be the favorites but I have seen any odds.

Ya , Galway and Cork would be the most likely all the time .After that i think it's highly unlikely with the others mentioned in the near future with only possibly Dublin having any chance but still unlikely.

Now it's mainstream and normal but if you suggested it in the 60s or 70s you'd be laughed at and lads would say you already have refs and lineman, etc."
They are not all daft actually.

Tipp had a very good Football team a few years back when they hammered Galway in the playoffs. Their hurlers are always a threat to win but for a few years there their footballers were very good too.

Tipp would have produced good footballers alright but they'd have a job of being as much a threat as the hurlers and wouldn't have the strength and depth you need to take on the big boys. If a pivotal figure got injured they'd be goosed. Very hard to do for anyone.

Yeah I agree. Tipp are not known for football but they were for a few years there. And I believe they won a minor all Ireland or at least got to one. Great achievement for a county known for hurling.

Excluding New York or London could an All Ireland ever be played outside Ireland?

Tipp won the 2011 minor final trump beating dublin, they also lost the 2015 minor final to ourselves, they got to the 2013 u21 final as well against Tyrone.

There are excellent footballers in Tipp they just get overshadowed by their hurlers.

More likely to see a 2nd English team first. If the Tailteann cup is a success in some form in the future we could see more UK teams or if the rules allow it a combined Europe team or Aussie team but from what I hear they would be anywhere near the standard right now

Yeah. The hurling is obvious but it's nice to see they have a good strong football scene there too.

What about an All Ireland in Australia? A lot of Irish over there. Not necessarily a Senior All Ireland but what about the Hurling and Football Minor All Irelands some year?

Minor not really considering so many issues with end of school exams, results, college issues etc

Yeah. Maybe U21s. It would be awkward for sure.

How much would it cost to fly two teams (subs, coaches, medics, etc), let's say 60 people, to Australia and back, including hotels (at least a week)? And who is going to pay for it?

True it wouldn't be cheap. I guess the gate receipts and maybe some sponsorship from some Australian companies such as Fosters or Quantas, etc. would go a long way in paying for the venture.

I don't think you would ever do it for Football in Australia, it would always have to be hurling. I would say the League Final would be a good idea. Australia has to many different types of Football already and they all think theirs is superior to the other in an almost evangelical way, so bringing Gaelic Football into a crowed market place I don't think would get the local buy-in. Europe and Asia would be better for Football.
Perhaps even the timing may be later in the year after the championship is done. I would require the teams to be there a week before but its all doable.

Am All Star selection from the Club Championship and give them a trip away as a bonus too.
RTE are starting to show Club championship games so players getting more exposure.

Good idea because it would also encompass many counties not just one or two so potential for a bigger crowd over there.

I was thinking the opposite but you're probably right. The Hurling would definitely do well down there as they seem to love contact sports and physicality.
