Each to their own but that was the exact 3 half backs that I picked.
I don't believe JJ was an option for the full back line - I think.

He was an option everyone is entitled to their opinion no doubt.

Seen the team picked so far on Twitter 1-7

Brendan Cummins ( should be Damien Fitzhenry in my bias opinion, either him or Eoin Murphy)

Brian Corcoran( getting an poty award at 19 as a corner back is unbelievable)
Lohan ( no complaints what a player)
Diarmuid o'Sullivan ( lucky and not a corner back)

Tommy Walsh ( No complaints doesn't need explaining)
Padraig Maher( brilliant career but shouldn't be ahead of the likes of JJ Delaney
Brian Whelahan( well deserved)

I would have went Fitzhenry, Ollie Canning, Lohan, JJ Delaney, Whelanan, Corcoran, Walsh

Seen 1 of 2 comments suggesting Delaney and Canning working for Sky went against them.

Ok, well then he definitely should have been in there but there is also a huge argument for Ollie Canning too. Greatness unfortunately nearly always comes back to what you won.

JJ and Ollie (despite both being in the media now) quietly went about their work and thus were never ones celebrated in the media in the way Lohan, the rock and Walsh for example.

I'd have no arguments should Fitzhenry have got in but I'd argue on Maher. For me he's Tipps greatest ever player. In my bias opinion (and i'll probably get laughed at for this) he dominated/dominates games in the same way Whelehan did. Walsh and JJ dominated their own areas but Whelehan and Maher dominated the whole back line and the bigger the game the bigger performance.
Biased perhaps but that's my opinion. There's only two Tipp players i'd say deserve to be on the team and the other would be Eoin Kelly.

Everyone is biased towards players that gave them great days at Croker. P Maher is probably the greatest player Tipp ever produced for consistency and never missing a match. I will say though all joking aside there can not pick a serious team picked over the last 30 or 40 years that doesn't have JJ Delaney as one of its 6 backs. You can argue a lot of positions but there are a few sure picks and JJ is one of them. That is a totally objective observation, in my opinion.

I agree with you 100%, himself and Eoin Murphy are shoe ins, no questions asked.

it is a totally objective observation and one i would 1000% agree on.
for me,him, tommy, brian whelehan were the first 3 names on my team.
am i remembering wrongly that brian corcoran was missing for about 3-4-5 years in the mid-late nineties?
my team so far would be :
fitzhenry (might be biased, but for me he was the cream of the crop)
delaney
lohan
ollie canning
tommy walsh
maher
brian whelehan

Michael Fennelly and Brendan Maher - unbeatable pairing. In another few years it would be hard to overlook Cian Lynch but he's only there a few years.

Love the loyalty but 7 out of 9 isn't bad. Tommy Dunne and i would have a toss up for the other spot Fennelly, but only was played at top level or about 5 years is one bu,t i would go with Frank Cummins 9 All-Irelands all at centerfield . I know he was really in his prime in the 70's but still won 3 after 79 and was a dominant figure in the middle of the field. I will say I think Lynch and McGrath of today's game will be considered all timers when they are done. Still no spot for JJ?

I wish they would pick a team with everyone in the right positions. They haven't picked a proper All-Star team since maybe the early 90's. But since the don't that is a more balanced and deserving team.
