We had Declan Colm Dara o'cineda Star Moynihan páidí ó Sé had Rí an Pharóiste which was semilar to Laochra Gael. Maurice Fitzgerald hasn't been on it either , I seen something on Micko Connell but don't think it was Laochra Gael either. Pat Spillane hasn't featured either I'd say. It means "warrior". It doesnt mean that you are " great" or that you are " the best". You can be a warrior without being skilful. In hurling I can think of Brendan Lynskey from my own county..... most definitely was a warrior for us in the 1980's team but also one of the least skilful players to play the game at the highest level during that period. I know alot of the modern episodes are available on TG4 player but would be great if the older episodes were made available to purchase. Agreed. IMO some lads are taking the title of the show too literally, it's like claiming that all of the finals shown on "All-Ireland Gold" should be classics when many of them were anything but. Superman wears Paddy Keenan pyjamas! Was re-reading The Road To 51 the other day and saw that Louth's All-Ireland winning side of 1957 had two Mayo men on it, Dan O' Neill and Seamus O'Donnell. They remain the most recent winners of Sam from the Yew County. O' Neill was a garda stationed in Drogheda who declared for the Wee County after the Mayo County Board queried his expense claims. Now, I know nothing about the O'Neill case (do you?), but maybe they had a good reason to query.
