actually Chris O'Dowd played with the Garryowen club when he came to London and Danny from the Coronas played with North London Shamrocks, two good footballers.
Frasier is now on the RTE player - I'd highly highly recommend it. For me it was the best US comedy ever made.
I know a lot of people say that about Seinfeld. I've never actually watched it though I do enjoy Curb Your Enthusiasm.
But back to Frasier it's genius - brilliant cast and characters. I always thought it was done much more like a British comedy where it's not about having to pack a gag into ever 30 seconds. It lets the plot develop and its a great combination of physical and situational comedy and witty dialogue and one liners.
Madness to think how popular Friends was when you had Frasier on the go around the same time.
If you've never seen it give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Like you, I never really watched Seinfeld, and I loved Frasier. But I think Cheers is probably the best US comedy series I've watched.

Watched a bit of M*A*S*H* last night for the first time in years. It looks dated but for me thats the best comedy the US have put out and I cant imagine them funding something so bold these days

Frasier was and still is a great show. Kelsey Grammer also starred in a little talked about show, where he played a character called Tom Kane corrupt Mayor of Chicago. It was available on TG4 player and well worth a look.

I agree 100 per cent with this! The wordplay in Frasier is the best of any comedy I've ever seen and I always think it's written less like a TV show than a play, a Shakepearian comedy of errors.
Personally I would put it above Cheers, but that's just my two cents...

While it was good. For me the best comedy out of us was frasier. Just brilliantly witty and funny.
