Life does have to go on but you have to do everything possible to save as many lives as possible and prevent as many people as possible from having to go to hospital and getting covid.

Any reason why schools seem to be getting a bye ball through all of the Covid spike accusations? Pubs and restaurants have been the square media focus yet they've been open for months now, or at least they were! The second spike came about a few weeks after schools reopened. From what my teaching friends tell me, the kids are pretty much as they were pre pandemic. Few masks, no distancing, fighting/wrestling amongst each other. They don't really care about the rules or else just aren't mature enough to accept them which is understandable as well. But they are passing the virus to staff as well as home to families at an alarming rate by the looks of things. Some schools are down to 50% attendance for both pupils and staff here in the North. In the meantime the first minister announces with confidence that the schools are essential and will stay open but the pubs, restaurants and other hospitality services don't fall into that category. Thats a hell of a statement for the economy! I get the importance of education for kids, but it will always be there to pick up when its safe to. For business owners its a different story. Who would even be encouraged to go into business when this is all said and done if this is the way peoples livelihoods are being dismissed. I'm no expert on all this but its my opinion they need to find a way to channel lockdowns towards the elderly and vulnerable, most of whom don't need to work anymore anyway and try to get the rest of the economy back on its feet before its too late, which looks the case already for a lot of people, sadly. Maybe up in the north but from what ive seen of schools down around where i am the kdis are wearing masks where they have to, none of anything else and if kids arent mature enough to grasp why they need to wear them now then says a lot about their parents etc.

That's my take too. If I were the GAA I'd get next week's league games played by hook or by crook, then suspending the championship before things get worse.

They were just fitter than everyone else like Ros in 2015. Anyone that knows anything about football knee Galway were not as good as media were making out. Dont think Joyce is up to it and wasnt impressed with him with Gakway underage last few years. A step down from Walsh as mad as that might sound.

Stop codding us. One match isn't the end of the world. Mayo deserved the win but I wouldn't panic just yet. Joyce is a big step UP from Walsh just give it time.

KillingFields (Limerick) well said, In the overall interest of everyone's health and safety I sincerely hope the GAA postpone all matches league and championship (from today) until there is a safer time to restart, even if that means in 2021 then so be it, we are not in a good place, I wish I was wrong.
