The provincial u20 championships have started. I think it will be one of Kerry, Cork, Galway or Tyrone who will win this U20 All Ireland. Some real top quality young players will be on show like Blake Murphy and Mark Cronin (Cork), Matthew Tierney (Galway), Oisin Mullin (Mayo), Ciaran Archer (Dublin), Shane Walsh (Meath), Darragh Canavan and Joe Oguz (Tyrone), Aaron Mulligan (Monaghan), Donal O'Sullivan and Paul O'Shea (Kerry). Watch out for Luke Swan, Dublin, reminds me of Con O'Callaghan when he was underage, only bigger and maybe even better.

I think Cork have 4 starters from last year underage. You're probably right about Galway. They are a talented team but Kerry, Cork and Tyrone are probably the most likely winners.

Meath won the Leinster U17 championship in 2017. Roscommon reached the U17 AI final that summer beating both Galway and Kerry on route so both should be fairly strong.

Hard competition to predict. The overlap with schools football has surely been a challenge for most teams and maybe more so in the North as on average think they finish school a little older. I'm sure plenty under 19 players concentrating more on the mccrory than under 20 intercounty. Monaghan should be good having won the last 2 ulster minors and they also won their under 20 league competition. Think down could also be on the up at this age group. Roscommon beat a Galway team without their 5 best players who were been rested for the Connacht u18 final.

Only two from the side that beat Mayo in the U17 semi final didn't play in that final. Roscommon were missing 3 or 4 key players due to injury so that excuse can't really be used.

Unfortunately Oisin Gallen is injured, he would certainly be close to the top of any list of future stars. He missed the same championship last year cause of that crap rule in place. Another player I would have on that list is Conor O'Donnell but the Donegal injury curse strikes again. One player who is highly touted and not injured is Aaron Doherty so could be one to watch. As for the championship itself it is not easy to predict....just look at last year. From an Ulster perspective the winners will probably come from Tyrone (the AI winners from 3 years ago at U-17) or Monaghan. I would give Donegal a huge chance were it not for the injuries. Themselves and Tyrone were very closely matched at under 17. While Monaghan beat us the last couple of years at minor talent wise we were as good but poorly coached. These 2 meet in the quarters tomorrow and I think it will be a close run game with the winners likely to be Tyrone's main challengers. Thanks for that Yondu. Seen the Tyrone under 20 side live once last year and came away thinking they would win Ulster and go very close outside the province. Proved right on the first count and losing a player when in a positive position cost them against Cork in the semi. That is a healthy number of players eligible again this year. They would be idea of Ulster champions at least.

When Tyrone have Armagh beat (at home) they'll be sick of them, isn't there 5 or 6 of the Armagh lads with the seniors? Donegal get over us and have their full squad available, they would be my choice for Ulster. Dublin 11/10 Kildare 5/2 and Meath 10/3, Laois 10/1, Westmeath 16/1, for Leinster, and Cork 10/3 are bookies favs for All Ireland followed by Kerry 7/2 and Dublin 11/2

Unlike most counties I think it is very difficult to judge a Dublin under 20 side based on what they done as minors. Given the playing numbers and support networks they have available, Dublins young players can show massive improvements in their development or players previously under the radar can come to the fore.
