Jack Lynch a previous Taoiseach and leader of Fianna Fáil won 5 All Ireland hurling titles and one football title. Not many politicians can claim that. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 1647 - 07/02/2020 16:35:15 2265985 Link 1 |

Limerick are the only senior football county to have a 100 percent win record in All Ireland finals. Respect! Llaw_Gyffes (Mayo) - Posts: 1105 - 11/02/2020 23:39:16 2267194 Link 0 |
Also the only county to have won more All-Irelands than provencial titles. Two football All-Irelands and only one Munster title

Vague recollection of Joe Sheridan doing something similar in the 2010 Leinster Final.

And on that note, I think Antrim the only Senior Hurling County with a 100% fail record in All Ireland Finals? Had a quick scan down through there and as far as I can see any other County who has lost an All Ireland has won it at some point. Whereas we have been in 2 and lost 2. And better still, we are prob the only County who has been in both Hurling and Football Finals and never won either. Respect!!!

In 1924 Mick Gill created history by winning two All-Ireland senior hurling medals in the same year and for different counties. On the 14th September he played on the Galway side which beat Limerick in the delayed 1923 final. On the 14th December he played on the victorious Dublin team, which beat his old team, Galway.
