Fermanagh v Cavan........................Cavan
Clare v Laois.......................................Laois
Westmeath v Armagh......................Westmeath
Kildare v Roscommon.....................Roscommon

This is definitely one of the most competitive divisions and as a result the most entertaining. And the standard of football is very high, most of these teams could beat any of the Div 1 teams on a given day.

I think the Rossie's main focus now is on staying in Div 2, their chance of being promoted is slight. I think Cavan and Westmeath are the team pushing for promotion. Clare and Fermanagh fighting to stay up in my opinion.

How is Roscommons chance of promotion "slight"? Every team in this division has a chance of promotion right now. Roscommon are 4th, and still have to play the 3 teams above them so it's still in their own hands. No team can be written off just yet.

Cavan are looking good for promotion now after two good away wins v Laois and Fermanagh. 6 points on the board and should end up with at least 10 points which normally means promotion in Div 2.

My apologies, what I meant to say was that the Rossies chance of NOT being relegated was slight. If you look at the Odds of who is likely to be relegated and promoted from this Division, Roscommon are one of the favourites of being relegated. So, for me that would reinforce my view that they are on the way down rather than on the way up.

Cavan are definitely favourites for going up and Roscommon are favourites for going down. Div 3 probably is where Roscommon are at, with all of the injuries and lads leaving for different reasons Roscommon are still boxing above their weight. Division 3 is probably where they belong.

It would be great to see Westmeath getting promoted as I think they could compete at Div 1 for a few years.

absolute rubbish, Roscommon are not a div 3 team, they are a top 10 or 12 team and will be in the top half of div 2.

All that, plus at some point we have to get the rub of the green with the officials. We must be the most hard done by team in the country, it's actually shocking!

Not sure where he came from but he's been asleep for the last couple of years by the sound of things.

Was at the Roscommon/Kildare game today.

Strange old game, Roscommon started like a house of fire scoring 4 quick points. Kildare then came back into the game and deservedly led at half time.

Second half was virtually all Roscommon bar the opening 10 minutes and in the end they ran out deserved winners by 7 points.

Decent game if truth be told.

Lads stopping entertaining Hoofhearted he's a troll and not even a good one.

Big and much needed win for us yesterday. Full value for our 4 point win and we had to grind it out against a very game Kildare whom especially 1st half probably delivered their best performance of the league campaign so far.

A huge Derby in Hyde Park between ourselves and Westmeath next Sunday. The winner will have eyes on promotion and the loser will still have fears of relegation hanging over them.

The Fermanagh fella I sat beside agreed with me that the ref was very poor for both sides. The conditions were very testing anyway, and that makes it hard for play to flow, so stop start play with fouls was always likely. I just saw no consistency for both sides from him. He allowed a lot of travelling, but the next time would blow a fella for taking the allowed steps. Allowed the ball to be picked up multiple time, and then blew for the ones that looked to have a toe under it. Annoying to watch, especially if he pulled your team for a foul and the opposition got away with similar moments before. Overall I wouldn't have said anything about the ref, as he was bad for both. It wasn't the winning or losing for either team. I think that was Fermanagh hitting loads of wides and dropped balls into the keeper...

We have had a bit of bad luck in refs and silly decisions recently though. He wasn't the losing of the first game out for us in Armagh, but Cassidy the ref that day was beyond brutal. Maybe that's what Cavanman47 is on about maybe...

ach aye fair nuff. Hurson was good in so far as he was equally bad to both sides lol though I read where the umpires behind the town end goal called for a penalty and black card for cavan defender when Ciaran Corrigan was flattened with 10 mins to go. trouble is that Hurson already said he took a dive in first half so maybe he had him pigeon-holed in his mind as a diver and not to be trusted
That game was there for us, but you Cavan boys were more economical and quickly realised that ball into the square was going to pay off.
13 wides to 3 though ...says it all
