Interesting take. This time last year I would have taken Fermanagh at home to beat most counties, this year I'm not so sure. Think Roscommon will edge it ,I actually do think Laois will beat Armagh, Kildare and Clare will be a tight game in Clare but Kildare should prevail by a point or two. Cavan Westmeath, Cavan are in disarray and Westmeath have heslin. For that Westmeath by a few.

Wouldnt be betting on Roscommon tbh we will be lucky to stay up. I know every counties suffers injuries and lads taking years out but we are down massive numbers same with Cavan. We have 7 championship starters from last year currently sidelined with injuries and the 2 or three lads from last year took a year out. Those missing added to the fact we have played chronic bad last two weekends i would be surprised if we left Enniskillen with 2 points Sunday.

Let's put it on paper from the sides that beat mayo and Galway last year against laois we were missing our goalkeeper. 2 of the full back line. 2 of the half back line 1 of the half forward line. And the whole full forward line. That's 9 starting players and this weekend bar possibly Conor Daly coming into the backs it's the same and will remain so for most if not all the league. Keeping us up in my opinion with the long term injuries we have would be a achievement on par with last year's Connacht victories. The 2 murtaghs and MC inerney not been available I'd no excuse we knew earlier this year that was to be the case and good luck to them. Good wins for Laois and Cavan tonight. Great to see Cavan bouncing back after last week. This division is wide open as usual. St.Conleth (Kildare) - Posts: 1623 - 01/02/2020 20:45:06 2264278 Link 2 |
Big Laois performance in beating Armagh by 6! We'll probably be form favourites after that but what it tells me is anyone can beat anyone, in true division 2 fashion. No gimmes anywhere. Sweetspot (Kildare) - Posts: 184 - 01/02/2020 21:04:13 2264297 Link 0 |
Wow all Ireland's should be played amongst division 2 and 3 teams a different winner every year. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1491 - 01/02/2020 22:59:21 2264355 Link 0 |
Huge win for clare, thought they would of really struggled this year. cityman73 (Limerick) - Posts: 517 - 02/02/2020 15:38:47 2264462 Link 0 |
Would make for a very entertaining championship, let Dublin and kerry play for World champions and the rest play for all ireland champions.

Div 2 certainly is entertaining. Being honest Donegal and Galway looked best equipped to step up and challenge Dublin and Kerry. Tyrone hard to know. Of the Div 2 teams I thought the Rossies, Armagh and Kildare would kick on. But then this weekend happens so hard to know. kiloughter (Galway) - Posts: 1730 - 02/02/2020 16:43:24 2264493 Link 1 |
Like my division 1 predictions this didn't go the way I expected. Fair play to both Fermanagh (gotmilk ain't seen you on here in awhile, hope all good with you my old friend. ) and Clare. Two seasoned teams in division 2 that always get the results. Well done to them royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 02/02/2020 18:55:52 2264575 Link 1 |
Fantastic result for my native county. There is a kick in us yet and here's hoping we can keep this performance level up and retain our D2 status. LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2023 - 02/02/2020 21:11:34 2264663 Link 1 |
What a weekend in Div2. Great advert for tired football. all very confusing though. MadgeKing (Cavan) - Posts: 489 - 03/02/2020 14:11:30 2264864 Link 0 |
Not sure what you are on about with that remark about us. The levels we reached in recent years which includes two Connacht titles and last 8 appearances in the last 3 years in a row wouldn't be achieved with our current weakened panel. Fair to say we have the toughest set of fixture left with Armagh,Kildare and Cavan all away, will be nothing easy against Clare next who will be on a high after beating Kildare and derby encounter v Westmeath will take on a life of its own. Unfortunately our long injury list has got longer with the news that two more starters ruled out for the rest of the league. Under the circumstances i'll be more than happy if we retain Div 2 status.
