Worry about the Championship when the Summer starts. I'd rather have my County in a Div 1 League Final than relegated to Div 2? katser (Galway) - Posts: 1058 - 01/03/2020 17:04:21 2271193 Link 4 |
To come back from that deficit and to win by two points is as sweet a victory as they come. Well done lads. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 2859 - 01/03/2020 17:07:23 2271195 Link 4 |
Meath posters need to let the toxic begrudgerrie go ye have a very good side, hardluck again I suppose. I think Galway are not as far off the Dubs as ye think either.

Yes but did I actually say what you allege that I said? I don't think so. I actually haven't made any allegations. I was at the back end of the stand last night to the right of the tunnel. I'm just saying what the talk was coming out of the ground. I'm sure there will be an investigation into it and the truth will come out. Nice attempt to deflect though "all top teams are at it".

Certainly not for "blue idolatry" anyway. Jayz, I've heard it all now.

How dare Galway beat Meath in Navan, the cheek maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1042 - 01/03/2020 17:19:24 2271206 Link 9 |
I dont care about Galway winning in navan - its the disgraceful pulling and dragging of players let off by the ref I had an issue with - same as RD. I was beside some Mayo people in a storm in navan last game and had no issue with them winning - another close game but they won fair and square. And I generally do like galway football but was quite surprised today considering all the good things we had heard about them. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 01/03/2020 17:32:19 2271213 Link 0 |
If you have a ref like todays in navan then, yes, you have a chance against anyone.

Donegal played really well today & after yesterday's heroics by Tyrone, the meeting of the two in Ballybofey next weekend in nicely set up. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 4985 - 01/03/2020 17:38:28 2271221 Link 0 |
Tyrone are not safe. If Mayo beat Galway and Donegal beat Tyrone or its a draw, then it comes down to a shootout in castlebar between Mayo and Tyrone.

100% agree. These incidents like last night that occurred over the last 15 years or so seem to have one county involved quite a lot

Horrible journey to Navan. Big result, 8 down, win by two. Roll on Mayo, could we relegate them? Will be a big battle. GDL (Galway) - Posts: 438 - 01/03/2020 17:45:22 2271228 Link 6 |
How do you know who sends who out to do what? Do you be in the dressing rooms to hear all this? These boys are big enough to do their own things and that's on all teams. From what I hear there was a lot of pulling and hauling today in Salthill. Did Joyce send them out to do it? Who is Holier than thou now?

Thought we played well enough today good to see some of our injured players come on in the 2nd half again we concede a poor goal due to a silly turnover and the lack of a free taker killed us again until Lenihan came on. As was the case with Mayo another game we let slip but I see a huge improvement since the Donegal game. Unfortunately we're back down again I really hope we can get back up next year as it's been fantastic back in div 1 runnerin (Meath) - Posts: 194 - 01/03/2020 18:00:01 2271240 Link 1 |
If Tyrone win against donegal on the Saturday we technically can't be relegated in salthill if Galway win but in reality we would be. It would take an outrageous turnaround in points difference that would be unprecedented if it happened. Any other result in ballybofey and we will be officially relegated if Galway win

Galway haven't been involved in much pulling and dragging in games up to now but decided today was the day to do it? Interesting change of a game plan when the previous tactics were working so well. If you don't think Meath were equally involved in the s***e that went on then you're deluded.

I hope the Mayo posters are enjoying the spectacle of Meath lads complaining about dirty play costing them a win. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 2859 - 01/03/2020 18:03:05 2271249 Link 11 |

Hurling was on in Pearse Stadium. Footballers were in Navan. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

What were the hurlers doing on Salthill? I was in Navan so I'll have to watch the highlights tonight Padraic joyce last week making his way onto the pitch to stop the lads entering the dressing room at the same time as the tyrone lads speaks volumes. He hadnt done that before and he didnt do it today either. galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1209 - 01/03/2020 18:41:41 2271273 Link 4 |
