Found that very odd myself. Under none of the rules does a fight in tunnel warrant a black card.

Three fantastic home wins with understrengh squad. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1644 - 01/03/2020 08:58:40 2271025 Link 2 |
Great game played in those conditions and a very controlled performance by Tyrone .their straight running at the Dublin defence caused all sorts of problems whereas Dublin were toothless in attack constantly running into the corners and getting isolated. The Tyrone defence was superb. mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1768 - 01/03/2020 09:11:51 2271028 Link 1 |

If a tyrone supporter struck a player why did other tyrone supporters and maybe subs go in on the criminals side. Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 342 - 01/03/2020 09:53:12 2271038 Link 4 |
Exactly, Galway are not that good, and I'd expect Meath to spring a surprise today..

I don't know who caused melee but gaving a black card is a complete joke. It's a cop out by referees . If he thought hampsey started it it's a red card all day. . Why single one player out and then gave him a black. I guarantee you they'll be referees giving out red cards today for doing absolutely nothing. It's about time referees and especially linesmen plus umpires do the job there supposed to do and not continue hiding when there a big call to be made..

All teams have under strength teams at this time of year.

There is a number of common denominators in these incidents: StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 864 - 01/03/2020 10:25:15 2271047 Link 5 |
Tyrone needed a win very badly to avoid being involved in a relegation battle over the last 2 games in a very tight league. They would have know this was their best chance of picking up the points and so it proved. The Dubs don't have much experience of playing in gutter up to their ankles, they are a long way from top form so far this year and have a new manager. The conditions and venue suited the home side as did a weak ref. The melee, the off the ball stuff such as on the Dub goalie are all part a parcel of doing whatever it takes. Tyrone are safe in Division 1 for 2021 that's all that matters. Regardless of who initiated the tunnel stuff it will go completely unpunished. Already in fact those who are calling it out for what is is, Brolly for one, are being vilified more than the perpetrators. giveitlong (Galway) - Posts: 1041 - 01/03/2020 10:34:15 2271050 Link 1 |
Oh, that dangerous hole of a place. Are you forgetting 1975 when children had to be carried out of Croke Park for there own safety. Kildare v Tyrone in Minor , Then Dublin v Derry.

Absolutely incredible that Niall Sculley stayed on the pitch for as long as he did..in the first 10 mins he punched Niall sludden as he lay in the ground which should have got a yellow if not a red card. Then he cynically fouled Peter Harte when Harte broke away from him. It mirrored Dublin's cynicism all night. mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1768 - 01/03/2020 10:52:01 2271054 Link 3 |
McCarthy should have got a straight red. That's 1 for the CCCC. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 11732 - 01/03/2020 10:55:37 2271057 Link 2 |
Couple of dublin players should've been dismissed.

Enter the tunnel separately.

These cynical events are planned & one holier than thou figure is responsible for instigating the thuggery all the time. It's sickening listening to individuals lecturing on morals & then sending lads out to commit acts of thuggery on & off the field. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1049 - 01/03/2020 11:17:29 2271065 Link 2 |
I was merely speculating as to why he got it, might be unrelated.

Bah ha ha. I was at the match. Any comment on the non-stop sledging of Dean Rock, the taking out of Comerford, the two Petey theatrical dives, one right at the end when Fenton barely looked at him. Let's not even discuss what might have started the tunnel incident. Show a bit of balance and a bit of graciousness in victory bud. We'll see you in Croker during the Summer.
