Replying To rorysboys:  "How did Padraig Hampsey get a black card for the melee at half time. Is that what the black card is for now."
Found that very odd myself. Under none of the rules does a fight in tunnel warrant a black card.

Great game played in those conditions and a very controlled performance by Tyrone .their straight running at the Dublin defence caused all sorts of problems whereas Dublin were toothless in attack constantly running into the corners and getting isolated. The Tyrone defence was superb.

Absolutely agree.

If a tyrone supporter struck a player why did other tyrone supporters and maybe subs go in on the criminals side.
In interest of player welfare NO team should be expected to play in that dangerous hole of a place. If they are disadvantaged by losing home advantage it serves them right for allowing things like this to happen if not encouraging it.

Exactly, Galway are not that good, and I'd expect Meath to spring a surprise today..

I don't know who caused melee but gaving a black card is a complete joke. It's a cop out by referees . If he thought hampsey started it it's a red card all day. . Why single one player out and then gave him a black. I guarantee you they'll be referees giving out red cards today for doing absolutely nothing. It's about time referees and especially linesmen plus umpires do the job there supposed to do and not continue hiding when there a big call to be made..

All teams have under strength teams at this time of year.

I think my point was lost in the midst of 'cloudy' Saturday night interpretations & responses.
It does not matter who started it. What matters is that those wearing their county jerseys, who are looked up to by many young kids who aspire to wearing the jersey, behaved in such a manner.
Anyway fair play to Tyrone. Hunger counts for a lot.

There is a number of common denominators in these incidents:
1. Tyrone
2. Tunnels
3. Out of sight of the referee.
4. Non-playing officials involved

Do we need to look at separate tunnels for each team? Or does the linesman need to be in the tunnel before the players? Or the home team has to enter the tunnel first because these grown men can't be trusted to act as such?
Is that the level of savages that we have become in the GAA?

Tyrone needed a win very badly to avoid being involved in a relegation battle over the last 2 games in a very tight league. They would have know this was their best chance of picking up the points and so it proved. The Dubs don't have much experience of playing in gutter up to their ankles, they are a long way from top form so far this year and have a new manager. The conditions and venue suited the home side as did a weak ref. The melee, the off the ball stuff such as on the Dub goalie are all part a parcel of doing whatever it takes. Tyrone are safe in Division 1 for 2021 that's all that matters. Regardless of who initiated the tunnel stuff it will go completely unpunished. Already in fact those who are calling it out for what is is, Brolly for one, are being vilified more than the perpetrators.

Oh, that dangerous hole of a place. Are you forgetting 1975 when children had to be carried out of Croke Park for there own safety. Kildare v Tyrone in Minor , Then Dublin v Derry.

Absolutely incredible that Niall Sculley stayed on the pitch for as long as he did..in the first 10 mins he punched Niall sludden as he lay in the ground which should have got a yellow if not a red card. Then he cynically fouled Peter Harte when Harte broke away from him. It mirrored Dublin's cynicism all night.

Replying To Find_the_space:  "IMO Hampsey was the instigator it. Ruffling feathers in front of the tunnel pushing and shoving as they entered. It did look like 1 or two fans jumped into the tunnel from the stand reenacting the scene from Kilcoo/Corofin game of the fella jumping in to tunnel.

Not too sure what Hampsey got a black card for. Yellow or red if they could pinpoint the offence. I didn't get a deliberate trip/take down, 3rd man tackle or charge.

Ref tbh was poor all round. Dublin keeper got emptied and deserved a black card. Dublin could have seen 2 black cards Scully for bodycheck and another for deliberate pull down within minutes of each other and McCarthy for striking.

Week in week out Petey Harte gets personal attention and isnt cute enough to play on it and gets no help whatsoever from the officials."
McCarthy should have got a straight red.

That's 1 for the CCCC.

Couple of dublin players should've been dismissed.

Enter the tunnel separately.

These cynical events are planned & one holier than thou figure is responsible for instigating the thuggery all the time. It's sickening listening to individuals lecturing on morals & then sending lads out to commit acts of thuggery on & off the field.
As for the supporters who jumped in, just like the club final they won't be identified or punished & fellas will take it further & further each time as there is no deterrent. The only time the GAA will take action is when somebody gets seriously injured or killed or when public images of kids getting entangled in a melee appear. In other sports the punishments are instant & very severe, but then in other sports that are even more physical, players can line up & shake hands directly with their opponents & walk up & down tunnels without any incident. But it doesn't happen in GAA as the level of hate & spite that is there is massive.
Some day very soon kids who line up to welcome teams on to the field or playing in bands are going to be entangled & injured by people who can't control themselves & are egged on by managers who drive the cynicism & hate.

I was merely speculating as to why he got it, might be unrelated.

Bah ha ha. I was at the match. Any comment on the non-stop sledging of Dean Rock, the taking out of Comerford, the two Petey theatrical dives, one right at the end when Fenton barely looked at him. Let's not even discuss what might have started the tunnel incident. Show a bit of balance and a bit of graciousness in victory bud. We'll see you in Croker during the Summer.
