GAA activity in England has been ceased after the country went into a second national lockdown on Thursday.

The new Covid-19 measures, announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, will last until 2 December, meaning GAA matches and training must be put on hold for four weeks.

London GAA were hoping to wrap up their football and hurling championships over the coming weeks but the latest restrictions have scuppered those plans.

The SFC, IFC and JFC semi-finals had been scheduled to take place in the English capital on Saturday with the SHC and IHC finals fixed for Sunday.

GAA action in Lancashire is already suspended as a result of a local lockdown last month while Hertfordshire, Warwickshire and Yorkshire have completed their championship season.
