Strabane Sigersons club notes

November 24, 2020

On Saturday in Páirc Mhíc Sioghair, there was a wreath laid in honour of those murdered 100 years ago in Croke Park by British Forces, this later became known as Bloody Sunday.

Club Chairman Liam Sweeney lowered the Sigersons flag in the Memorial Garden to Half Mast.

Club President John McCrory then laid a wreath.

Due to local restrictions we were unable to have more people in attendance.

A massive thanks to Frances Jack for the beautiful wreath.

On Saturday night, Sigersons joined hundreds of GAA clubs across Ireland lighting up our club grounds. A huge thanks also to Crawford/McCallion for lighting up our clubhouse in our National colours.

So many Gaels have went before us, so many people have fought to keep the GAA alive in towns like Strabane, today and always we thank them people and remember them.

The 14 people killed on Bloody Sunday will never be forgotten by GAA men and women across the globe.
