Cathal Dolan posted 0-13 (0-11 from frees) as Roscommon booked their place in the semi-finals of the Christy Ring Cup with a three-point victory over neighbours Sligo in Athleague this afternoon.

Underdogs Sligo led by 0-3 to 0-1 early on thanks to points from Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch (two) and Conor Hannify before the hosts battled back with scores from Dolan and Johnny Coyne to take a 0-11 to 0-8 lead into the break.

O'Kelly-Lynch, who finished with 0-12 (0-11 from frees) to his credit, levelled twice for last year's Nicky Rackard Cup champions in the second half, but they couldn't get their noses in front and the Rossies closed out the game, despite having Mickey Joe Egan sent off.

In the Lory Meagher Cup, meanwhile, Andrew Mackin's 18th minute goal helped Louth to a 1-15 to 0-16 victory over Cavan at Kingspan Breffni and a place in the final.
