Intermediate Hurling Programme

(Oldest Posts First)

Last few years the match day programme for the hurling has been excellent but Saturday's Intermediate Final publication was a disaster. The Dunderry team had 3 players duplicated in 3 different positions and one player was duplicated in place of his younger brother. You would have thought that when the first copy was printed they would proof check it first. Then to insult to injury they charged €5 for the wrong information.

It was a disgrace of a programme the pages were also wrong. To pay a printer to do a job like that is disgraceful and then to ask for €5. Why weren't they check as you said before they went to print.

The general rule is that the more pages in the programme, the more they can charge. I think the county board realised that they could bulk up the programme by stuffing it full of (unnecessary IMO) pen pics and captains profiles and "what's your favourite food" type questionnaires, and have really gone all out to make it high on quantity and low on quality.

There is no excuse for the duplication of the players. You are expecting the correct information when you pay €5. Personally, I like to read about the clubs and the people involved.

The Editorial Team consisted of 10 people, all named on page 7 of the programme. Is this too many? It was once claimed that if a committee set out to design a horse you will get a camel!
