Very true. Poor showing for the junior game on Saturday also.

Meath fans traditionally have been poor in my opinion. For a county with a population of 200,000 and situated right beside croke Park, in 2007 semi Final v Cork the attendence was 38,000 and v Kerry 2 years later it was 50,000. This is the second biggest game that meath could play in and both these events could only attract these small crowds. It just reiterates the point that Meath have poor support considering their population

In fairness at least 30k were meath fans both those days. If the opposition brought likewise there would have been 60/70k in attendance.

Sunday will tell a lot about the meath support. Meath and Mayo up first so it'll be easy to judge the support. Mayo could possibly bring 20, 000 plus to this game. With meath being in the same do or die position I'd be disappointed if we didn't match their attendence

I'd love to agree but think you're being a bit optimistic I'm afraid!! Maybe 10 or 12. Half the usual doubters will sit and watch in on tv... sickens me, esp in Croke park, no excuses distance wise...

Meath had at least 75% of crowd at Cork game and Kerry match we were also in majority, so we attracted quite a good crowd to these games. Younger people in county have little connection to present team and that is why it is so important we got back to Div one and a run in super 8s. Like it or not everyone loves a winner and the more we improve the better the support will be, not fair on players but same all over. The CSO may tell us we have 200,000 plus living in county but many are from outside county and will never have any interest in Meath GAA.

Well when fans are been told not to go, or told they shouldn't even think that we can win and are embarrassing the county for saying so. What can we expect?? I traveled with herself and our 3 youngest including my little miracle son who is only 2 years old, we left at 9am and returned about 8.30. We went expecting to win, and upto last 10 minutes I seen nothing to suggest otherwise, we will go with a bigger group to Croke park, as one was away on trip this weekend and guess what? We will be going expecting to win.

We won't outnumber mayo. They are pound for pound the best supporters in football the last 10 years. We didn't out number them in 2009 for that quarter final and their fanbase was smaller then. I'd be happy if we had 15k turn up but I'm expecting 10k. The big numbers won't return while Dublin are dominating Leinster and Ireland. The general meath population won't get emotionally attached when they know we've no chance vs our bitter rivals.

You mean the bandwagons?? The real supporter will go to every game humanly possible. I haven't missed a second of Meath this year in obc league or championship, the season ticket is a great thing, apparently I will be in for a draw as I have 100% attendance record for a all ire ticket, But you know what? I have plenty for the all ire if Meath get there. I advise everyone to get a season ticket.

You will get a ticket for all ire final if Meath are in it which is doubtful. Have one myself though and they are great value.

How much do you save if you go to most of the matches?

All league games are free admission, plus get great seats for the final of league, 5 cheaper than paying for games for championship plus first game covered. Best Xmas present I get every year. And kids one is only 10. Great value all around
