And, speaking of loyalty, I dont want to be little Mickey Burke loyal and 100% commitment to the Meath cause. But why have him on the bench if he not going to play him ? The last time I think Mickey played was against Kildare in the League. did he get a run out against Fermanagh. I am not sure. I see Eoin Lynch was the Maor Uisce against Clare, Surely it should be the other way around Mickey would be ideal for this role. And Lynch gaining experience as part of the squad. For example Bernard Brogan is busting a gut at training and cant even get on the match day squad for Dublin.

Cannot continue to flog a dead horse. Brennan had more than enough chances to make the jersey his own. Poor displays from dead ball and play in Offaly, Carlow, Laois and Dublin game was enough. I was delighted he got his point against Clare from the bench. I thought it was him putting his hand up to Management for selection but reality is Devine has his spot now and has taken it running and theres too many lads in ahead of him like McEntee, Walsh, McGovern, Reilly, O'Reilly. And i think Graham had a massive impact yesterday, kickout and keeper are fine and the slow transition of ball from defence to attack is genius. Conlon should have been left on and if Brennan was there we would have won it.

He plays in goal for his club, has done all the way up I assume he kicks plenty of dead balls in training, he just can't deliver to the standard required. I do take your point in relation to dead balls but only as far as outfield players go goalies should be well used to kicking it out. If Gallagher had not taken that black card , Meath would have been in big trouble …… He literally took it for the team

Yea absolutely, had to do it, but I just personally thought it changed the game for us...

Yes agreed on that, the black card was a massive turning point. No doubt about it Gallagher had to take him down. The funny thing is we probably would have made a change at the back anyway, Gallagher and Lavin were doing very well but we were clearly tiring. It just felt like the black card gave Donegal that extra impetus. It certainly lifted the crowd and from that point on Donegal really upped the tempo.

Pity we didn't have Ronan Ryan fit to come in.

Yep would be good to have another specialist man marker to come into the team towards the end of the game. Lavin has been excelling at corner back for the last two seasons but Gallagher isn't at the same level yet. He's always likely to give up a couple of scoreable frees a game and he's liable for at least a yellow card. So when that happens we need to have a replacement at the ready who can do the same job. Ronan Ryan seems to be that person once he's back fit and he was selected at 4 for most of the league so hopefully we've three corner backs who can do a job.
