Portlaoise Sunday Town Goal

(Oldest Posts First)

big support needed on sunday in portlaoise, we need to make the traditional meath end in portlaoise a wall of noise and green and gold, bring out the flags and as many bodies as you can fit in cars , this is our all ireland final. Clare are a team that could be easily rattled by this and it will lift our lads as it did against westmeath in 2002 and 03 and galway in 07 and limerick in 09. we need to bring out the crowd for this game , so you all know who you are if you were there in the above years see you up there sunday again.

Need more of this. Bring flares, flags, banners, anything green. And most importantly create some noise

Exactly. This is precisely what the team need on Sunday. We have to do our bit too. Not just players and management.
Hon the royal.

i know theres always youngsters who love this bit of craic so hopefully the lads that were on the hill against dublin will be there on the twon end goal sunday . this really will help lift the players so try and get as any youngsters and not so young in behind the goals. does anyone rember playing galway in portlaoise in 2007? geraghty coming in after his training ground spat and saluting the crowd at that end when they were chanting his name?!

I think we saw v dubs the amount of anti Meath sentiment out there, it hasn't a baited one bit. Seemed like it was 31 against 1, with all the envy of dubs success and the biased funding towards them, the one line no one could cross was to shout for Meath.
So in that regard majority will watch cheering on Clare. It makes sense imo.

I think the pro Dublin and anti meath bias has been around a long time. Just look at the refereeing performances for the matches between Dublin and Meath in 2005, 2007 x2 and 2009.

This is during a period where the GAA openly said they needed a stronger Dublin so go figure.

The 2 games V Dublin in 07 were robberies by the referee especially the square balls

The tickets I have are General Admission, (they were all that was on sale in Super Value when I bought), were separate stand tickets on sale earlier or do these tickets cover all areas of the ground and where you go is first come first served ?

Rubbish. Sky took the games they wanted and Rte were left with us. Alot of neutrals I know supported Meath in the Leinster final
