If it's great for the Meath diaspora like myself just how good is it in the county? I've scoured every news source and listened to every interview since yesterday and I still find myself wanting more! Must have been some craic in the bar last night when the players came in. Well not been in county myself I can't exactly say, but the few of us in the western part of Meath had a absolute ball last night, honestly not since 10 have I been this high.

Part of the diaspora living in south Dublin. Enjoy the funny looks I get buying cheaper tickets in the local SuperValu. My manager in work is a Lilly so enjoyed the Monday after we beat them. Wasn't very optimistic coming into this campaign based on form from the previous number of years and I'm still wary about our long term prospects but its still a great feeling to say we are a Division One county! Its a feeling well deserved, especially for the senior players on panel who soldiered on when things were not going so well. A win on Saturday would be great and a bit of silverware for all concerned would be icing on the cake. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 1432 - 25/03/2019 18:49:15 2175381 Link 11 |
In navan on Sunday I thought a big feel good factor among families and those hoping for long term Meath success was the long overdue bring a ball initiative. The field covered with happy children at half time was terrific. Good to see the County Board interested in the long term. Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 342 - 26/03/2019 09:23:39 2175474 Link 0 |
On the way to work this morning and great to see flags outside houses again. Fantastic to have a good spread of players from across the county in the team too which only adds to the feel good factor. Long may we run. bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1668 - 26/03/2019 12:06:07 2175510 Link 0 |
Apart from promotion this bring a ball initiative has been the second best thing. If I was a kid I'd be eagerly awaiting the next game for my run onto the pitch. There is a real feel good factor but nobody is getting ahead of themselves. Ultimately the odds of getting into the super 8's through leinster are almost nil so we'll have to win at least 1 straight knock out match in the qualifiers to achieve our goal. If we get to and lose the Leinster final chances of winning a knock out game will be influenced a lot by the turn around time for the next game. Crazy a times having to play 6 days after losing a Leinster final.
