Eligibility For B League

(Oldest Posts First)

Hi there - can someone explain to me how a player can play for their club in the B league having already played A league the previous week? I would have thought if a player was named in the starting 15 for teh A team they wouldn't be eligible for the B league??

All clubs have to name a certain amount of players who can only play A league. The number is 10 or 15 I'm not sure which. After those players everyone else is eligible. Once the championship starts whatever 15 that start for your clubs 1st team are then ineligible for B league and everyone else is eligible . So it's quite normal to have players playing A league and then B league they very next day sometimes

Hence the lists are reviewed after the 1st round of the championship.

At the end of the day it's the B leagues and many teams are just trying to field a second team so ALL their players can play some football.
Who really gets excited about winning a B league??
At the end of the day lads want to play football and the B leagues gives everyone a chance.
There are so many clubs around the county that if you genuinely took away (15/10) lads would not be able to field a second team consistently when you factor in injuries, suspensions, players working / away etc.

Thanks folks for the responses. I was just curious - I noted a team sheet from an A league game and another from a B league game and there were quiet a few players who played in both games. I don't really have an issue with it!
